(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher or PhD Position: Light-driven THz Switching of Antiferromagnets and Antiferromagnetic Magnonics

Achieving the fastest possible processing of magnetic bits with the smallest possible consumption of energy is the next grand challenge in fundamental and applied magnetism. If successful, it may enable energy-efficient writing and processing of magnetic bits at unprecedented THz rates. Antiferromagnets (AFMs) offer one of the fastest magnetic responses lying precisely in the THz frequency range and thus provide an intriguing playground to search for the fastest and the least dissipative mechanism of data processing. However, their rigidity to external magnetic fields challenges our understanding of scenarios and processes leading to an efficient writing of antiferromagnetic bits.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Assistant Professor at the Donders Centre for Cognition and School of Psychology

You will be teaching in the areas of cognitive neuropsychiatry, cognitive neuropsychology and cognitive neuroscience, and will supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects on topics relevant to forensic psychiatry (e.g. aggression). Your teaching will be part of the Bachelor’s programme in psychology, the clinically-oriented Master’s programme and the Research Master’s programme in Cognitive Neuroscience (CNS) (the Bachelor’s and CNS programme are English-language programmes, the clinical Master’s programme is taught in Dutch). Your scientific research will be embedded in Dr Inti Brazil’s SAMBA research group at the Donders Centre for Cognition, which is part of the Donders Institute. The research programme of this group mainly focuses on combining approaches from experimental psychology, cognitive neuroscience (e.g. neuroimaging) and statistical modelling methods in order to study how impairments in neurobiological and psychological functioning underpin antisocial and maladaptive behaviours. The research is conducted in individuals from the general community, psychiatric patient populations, incarcerated offenders, and forensic psychiatric populations. The research conducted by the SAMBA group is primarily embedded in Theme 2 (Perception, Action and Decision-making), but there are also extensive collaborations with researchers from Theme 3 (Development and Lifelong Plasticity). You will be expected to actively apply for grant-based and contract funding that will align with the research agenda of the Donders Institute in general and that of the Department of Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology in particular. The position offers excellent possibilities for career development.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher in Sensorimotor Neuroscience at the Donders Centre for Cognition

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will take a computational neuroimaging approach to characterise the plasticity of somatosensory and multisensory body representations in the human brain. You will design novel plasticity-focused behavioural and neuroimaging paradigms (M/EEG) to measure these body representations, before and after tool use. A major component of all experiments will be the use of computational modelling to analyse and interpret the data – this includes sensorimotor modelling approaches and machine learning. The goal of these models is to understand the transformations used by the Body Positioning System to construct body space. Close collaboration is foreseen with other members of the team, including colleagues throughout the Donders Institute. Project management and mentoring (MSc and BSc students) will also be part of your responsibilities.
