The main responsibilities include conducting research within the MR Physics group, focusing on the development of prostate cancer diagnostics and treatment monitoring in both clinical and preclinical environments. We will utilize advanced diffusion and relaxation MRI to investigate tissue microstructure and generate parameters that can be used as clinical biomarkers. The work will be carried out in both human subjects and preclinical models. It also involves qualitative and quantitative analysis of light microscopy and high-resolution X-ray microscopy (micro-CT). Emphasis is placed on the ability to work interdisciplinary (i.e., in collaboration with researchers, physicians, and international partners) and independently (i.e., through self-initiative, structuring, and planning innovative research). The MR Physics group has a large international collaborative network, which encourages travel for planning and implementing various future collaborative projects.

Your main task is to carry out the research plan, presented in the application, focused on some sector of Scandinavian film culture in the broadest sense. The research is carried out in dialogue with other researchers and doctoral students at the department in Lund, as well as to a certain extent with our Danish colleagues. You are expected to present your own research within the framework of our seminar series, but also to be a conversation partner and support for your colleagues’ research, not least that of doctoral students. Of particular importance is to contribute your expertise in collaboration with our Danish colleagues around a joint research node. The working hours are flexible, but it is a requirement that you can constantly be in the physical environment in Lund and participate in the daily work.

We are looking for a postdoc who will contribute to and develop an interdisciplinary research project that examines migration literature in Sweden and how professionals with a migrant background establish themselves in the contemporary cultural and academic field in Sweden (https://postmigrantfields8.wordpress.com).The project is a collaboration with Malmö University and brings together researchers in Ethnology, Literary Studies, Migration Studies and Media Studies. The APXPS team operates the SPECIES and HIPPIE beamlines at the 1.5 and 3 GeV rings, respectively. Both beamlines are dedicated to developing the ambient pressure x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy user scientific program at MAX IV. The post-doctoral researcher is expected to take an active role in all stages of the research project. The post-doctoral researcher will be responsible for preparing stimulus material, designing and programming experiments, collecting and analyzing behavioral, eye-tracking, and EEG data, and for reporting and presenting the research results.

You will primarily work with the analysis of large-scale human data from next-generation sequencing technologies (NGS), including single-cell sequencing (RNA/ATAC/multiome), but also with other types of bioinformatic analyzes (such as DNA methylation arrays and data from genome-wide association studies, GWAS) as well as RNA-seq and ChIP-seq data. The position involves independent research in own defined projects. MAX IV is looking for a postdoc that will study the single particle dynamics in several candidate low-emittance lattices. Both the injection process and the stored beam properties need to be studied. A sound scientific approach with systematic simulation studies will be needed. Interaction with different technology teams like magnet and vacuum specialists need to be intense all through the lattice evaluation process. In daily life, emergence is complex, large-scale behaviour resulting from numerous interactions at smaller scales, such as when thousands of birds’ swarm, moving in harmony without centralized control. In music, one example of large-scale behavior is a composition that results when individual components become entangled to present the illusion of connectivity. 

The person appointed will participate in work contributing to the overall project ‘Scripture and Secularism’, led by Dr Hannah Strømmen. In addition, the person appointed will undertake his/her proposed research project, including the fulfilment of set objectives. The post-doctoral position is linked to a research project focused on organic synthesis and studies of ion conducting polymers and electrolyte membranes. These materials are important for tomorrow’s energy system with fuel cells and water electrolyzer cells based on hydrogen as a renewable energy carrier. The main goal is to develop new synthetic strategies and knowledge how these materials can be molecularly designed for high chemical stability and efficient ion conductivity in alkaline membrane water electrolyzers for hydrogen production. The experimental work consists of organic synthesis, molecular characterization and polymerization of new monomers, post-polymerization modification, polymer characterization, preparation of functional membranes, as well as analysis of electrochemical, mechanical and thermal properties with a focus on thermochemical stability and ionic conductivity. The project is carried out within the framework of a European programme with collaboration between universities, research institutes and industry.

Research on numerical modelling and measurement tests in the laboratory and field on how methodology and instrumentation for investigation of electrical properties of the ground can be optimised for underground infrastructure construction and monitoring. DCIP (Direct Current resistivity and time-domain Induced Polarisation) tomography, as a method for determining the spatial distribution of the spectral induced polarisation (SIP) properties in the ground, will be in focus. Systematic tests regarding noise disturbances in the data and ways to handle it are included. Furthermore, monitoring of processes in in the ground or in the laboratory, including fluid and gas migration.

As a postdoctoral fellow in the project “Significance of carbohydrate quality for cardiometabolic risk” with funding from the Swedish Research Council and the Heart and Lung Foundation, your work will consist of data processing of material from large nutritional epidemiological studies, as well as writing articles for publication in peer-reviewed international journals. Within the project, we will use different methods (including metabolomics) to gain new insights into the connection between sugar intake and risk of cardiometabolic risk. We will also use objective markers for sugar intake measured in urine. Other tasks within the research group may also be relevant, for example planning to a coming intervention study.

The employment is part of the 5-year project “PlantEra – Biomolecular and structural comparisons of ancient and modern plants– tools for tracing phylogeny and survival strategies during mass extinctions”; https://kaw.wallenberg.org/en/research-projects-2020. Within the project framework, exceptionally well preserved 50-200 million year old plant remains will be studied including plant groups that survived several mass extinctions, while others went extinct. We aim to identify subcellular differences between the survivors and those that perished. Fossils will be compared with modern related plants regarding microstructure, biomolecules and trace elements, using multiple methodologies. In parallel, modern relatives of ancient plant species will be investigated for physiological, metabolic and molecular responses to paleomimetic growth and stress environments. Functional properties will be modeled based on structural characteristics. This project will provide a unique insight into evolutionary biomolecular relationships between extinct plant groups and our modern flora, and gain information about the adaptation of plants to drastic environmental changes and contribute knowledge about physical functions that control the resilience and survival of plants under critical environmental conditions.

This position is part of a larger multidisciplinary project recently funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg (KAW) Foundation focusing on potassium ion channels, which will be conducted in Stockholm, Linköping, Gothenburg and Lund in Sweden by five separate research groups. Ion channels are essential for life across organisms and a sophisticated understanding of their function is imperative for basic, biomedical and applied research. The overarching goal of the proposed project is to develop ion channel activators and inhibitors. Previously unmet specificity needs will be achieved by targeting subtype- and conformational-specific features, thereby limiting side effects. The focus will be on Kv7 channels linked to a range of severe neurological disorders, including epilepsy, sleep disorders and autism.

The project, ICARUS – Illuminating power dynamics in cross-scale adaptation for more resilient and just futures,  aims to develop a better understanding of the power and political structures that shape climate change adaptation decisions across scales. To do this, the post-holder will conduct comparative empirical research across Skåne, Sweden and East Anglia, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will carry out policy analysis and expert interviews across four levels (local, province/region, state, and EU/UN), as well as surveys in Skåne and East Anglia.
