This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to take a leading role in hydrogeochemical modelling and monitoring of mine waste rock dumps as part of an ARC-Linkage project. The Research Fellow will work with a team of geochemists, hydrologists and geophysicists in the Centre for Water in the Minerals Industry, School of Civil Engineering and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The Research Fellow will also collaborate with project industry partners, and international research partners in Canada and France.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Cardiovascular and Musculoskeletal Disease
The University of Queensland has a fantastic opportunity for a Postdoctoral researcher to join the Blood Vessel Integrity Group, led by Dr Anne Lagendijk. The group’s overall aim is to uncover the cellular mechanisms that control blood vessel integrity, both during embryonic development and in disease. This is a full-time position being offered as a 2-year maximum-term contract, with potential for renewal, based at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences (IMB), St Lucia. In this role, the successful applicant will undertake internationally competitive research using zebrafish models. The primary focus will be to screen candidate disease genes that are associated with abdominal aortic calcification to determine if they are involved in cardiovascular disease pathogenesis, and pathogenesis of related musculoskeletal co-morbidities. This project will be conducted in close collaboration with Dr John Kemp who leads the Musculoskeletal Genomics Group at Mater Research

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow in Antenna Technologies
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking research; supervising research of higher degree students; and conducting professional activities on antenna technologies and microwave engineering. We welcome applications from engineers with a broad expertise in electromagnetic theory, computational electromagnetics, and industry-standard electromagnetic simulation tools, as well as prototyping and experimental methods at microwave and millimetre-wave frequencies. Experience in and wireless systems will also be considered of high value. This is full time position for up to three-years fixed term with the aim of strategic developments of collaborative efforts with industry and government agencies. During the term of the position, the researcher will be expected to work on various research projects and to develop new avenues of research and collaborations. Research areas of particular interest in applied electromagnetics include reconfigurable antennas, metasurfaces and reflectarrays, beam-steering antennas, additive manufacturing and novel materials for antennas and electromagnetic structures.

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented post-doctoral researcher to join our NHMRC funded SAFER Hospitals research program evaluating the safety, quality and outcomes of hospital care using nationally linked hospitalisation data. The ideal candidate would have a doctoral degree (or equivalent mix of qualifications and research experience) in health outcomes research, epidemiology, statistics or health services research with a strong analytical skill and a track record of research output. In this newly created position, the Research Fellow will be responsible for independently developing and leading research in collaboration with the investigator team. Specifically, they will investigate hospital-based care for common disorders and evaluate outcomes of that care including treatment safety, effectiveness, costs, and variation in practice.
