(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: POSTDOC ON ANOMALY DETECTION (2023-224-05635)

Video-based surveillance of public areas is most often met with skepticism and criticism, even when the purpose is to enhance the safety and security of citizens. In this project, sponsored by Villum Synergy program, an AI-based video analytics postdoc will work closely with experts on ethics and regulation of AI systems to design, develop, and deploy an anomaly detection system that is ethical and legally compliant by design. The anomaly detection system will be used for detecting abnormal behaviors in harbor fronts like falling in water, which stands for around 25% of drowning incidents in Denmark. The overarching goal of the project is to contribute to the understanding of key ethical and legal concepts in relation to AI systems and their specific implementation.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN STABILIZATION OF CYCLODEXTRIN CRYSTALS (2023-224-05672)

A Postdoc position is available to explore the possibility to synthesize and stabilize channel-type cyclodextrin crystals. Channel-type cyclodextrin crystals display superior properties as e.g. absorbents, but are inherently instable. It is therefore important to uncover methods and processes that can lead to stabilized forms of these crystal structures.

We will attempt to synthesize stabilized channel-type cyclodextrin crystals by chemically cross-linking using different approaches including the use of gas phase or suspension based crosslinking techniques. The prospective Postdoc will be responsible for designing processes for synthesis of these materials in the laboratory and testing their properties as primarily effective and selective absorbents towards volatile organic molecules.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN ENZYMATIC BIOELECTROSYNTHESIS (REPOST) (2023-224-05657)

Enzymatic bioelectrosynthesis is an emerging field of using relatively-cheap electricity to drive biocatalysis reactions for the synthesis of high value-added molecules. Reduced nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, i.e., NADH, is a very common electron donor used in many biological processes. NADH dependent enzymes are versatile to catalyze many useful reduction reactions. In this context, electrochemical NADH regeneration holds the key for enzymatic bioelectrosynthesis. This postdoctoral position is announced as part of the project called“Enzymatic Bioelectrosynthesis for Developing Novel Pharmaceuticals” funded by a Novo Nordisk Foundation Start Package grant with the aim of establishing a compact system for electrochemical NADH regeneration and enabled chiral molecule synthesis.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC POSITION AT THE CENTER FOR NEUROPLASTICITY AND PAIN (CNAP) (2023-224-05675)

CNAP is a Centre of Excellence supported by the Danish National Research Foundation at Aalborg University, Denmark. The vision of CNAP is to identify and modulate key features of human pain neuroplasticity through a systematic engineering approach, including provoking, probing, and modulating the dynamic neuroplastic properties of the pain system. We believe that this approach over time will facilitate new fundamental discoveries and change the state of the art. Our world class lab facilities in brand new buildings enable advanced quantitative sensory/pain testing, application of advanced neurophysiological techniques(e.g. EEG, TMS, rTMS, HD-tDCS, neuronavigation), bio-medical techniques(e.g. linked with epigenetics and general biomarkers), as well as research based on animal models(e.g. rodents and pigs).
