Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Senior Research Associate

The main role of this position will be to lead the production of Health Evidence Reviews (HERs) at the request of government. It requires proficiency in systematic review (including critical appraisal and meta-analytic techniques) and scoping review methods; basic quantitative techniques; and qualitative approaches to collecting and analysing data. Strong communication skills are needed, since the position must interact with many different stakeholder communities. In addition to this main role, there will be  opportunities to engage in other research related to methods for assessing technologies, services and programs throughout their lifecycle and determining the broader social value of therapies for rare diseases as part of other grants held by members of the Unit.  Therefore, activities in which the research associate will be involved include planning, developing, conducting, implementing and disseminating research in the form of HTAs and other empirical work.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Associate

The candidate will conduct research on oceanographic modeling, particularly in the area around Greenland. The Research Associate is tasked with investigating the dynamics of freshwater and warm water around the Greenland Ice Sheet. Operating within a multidisciplinary framework, this role combines ocean modeling and analysis of existing observational data to enhance the scientific community understanding of critical climate processes in the Arctic region. One key aspect will investigate oceanographic modeling in Baffin Bay, with an emphasis of freshwater in the marine system. (03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate

The Clemente research group invites applications for research associates to perform high-level complex research activities for projects in cardioimmunology. Our main research topics include immune responses in cardioncology, viral and autoimmune myocarditis. We use genetically modified mouse models to uncover the role of immune cells in these settings. The projects will expose the RA to a wide variety of scientific questions and approaches, including exploring changes in immunological responses and understanding mechanistic relationships between the immune system and heart function 

The RA will help establish project goals and experiments, and guide technicians and students in the lab. Specifically, for animal experiments, the candidate will be responsible for managing the ordering and maintenance of animals, records, and animal experiments. Independent decision-making and collaboration with lab trainees, animal care staff, the principal investigator, and veterinarians will be needed.

  • Designs individual experiments, data collection protocols, and standards under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
  • Determines the most appropriate methodology to meet identified research goals.
  • Oversees/conducts data collection. Conducts advanced analysis of research data and results.
  • Summarizes, analyzes, and organizes data for publication. Participates in the writing of research papers, the preparation of presentations, and/or other publications. May be considered as a co-author or presenter.
  • Assists in the preparation of research grant applications and contract proposals.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and efficient operation of the lab (e.g., specialized lab equipment maintenance and calibration).
  • Guide technical staff, students, and/or post-doctoral fellows in the lab.

Using provincial RAI-MDS 2.0 data the Research Associate will first validate the algorithm in provincial data and the work with senior investigators and government to evaluate its utility on a going forward basis, i.e., in real time. If successful the indicator will point to system fluctuations that merit further investigation, earlier than would normally be possible.
