The Postodoctoral Fellow is required to manage data projects in the Tulane Center for Clinical Neurosciences. He/she will be responsible for the creation, updating, maintenance, quality control and filtering, validation, security and analyses of research projects databases; along with multiplatform system programming and provision of computerized reports as needed.  He/she will also be responsible for developing bioinformatics and data analysis protocols and pipelines, and assisting with faculty analytic projects with a variety of other study related tasks, in compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory agencies guidelines.

 

The Postdoctoral Fellow is responsible for all aspects of data analysis, including cleaning, organizing, managing, and monitoring data as well as composition of tables and figures to convey results.  The He/She is responsible for writing reports, designing presentations and summarizing the findings from analysis. He/She assists with development of works for publication from study results, as well as compilation of any other research-related activities deemed necessary by the principal investigators for the success of the research projects.

Eosinophilic disorders are allergen induced lung and gastrointestinal diseases, commonly observed in both pediatric and adult patients. Our laboratory is working to understand the mechanism that is operational in inducing including Asthma, lung fibrosis, eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroenteritis by using transgene or allergen-induce mouse models.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work in conjunction with the Principal Investigator to perform the following research activities: identify available transgenic and gene-deficient mice for the research study; induce eosinophilic disorders in mice by allergen challenge; maintain and  monitor  mouse colony; collect tissue and cell cultures; maintain data book and plot graphs of research experiment results; conduct patient biopsies and blood samples for translational work; and participate in regular laboratory meetings and seminars, as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Tulane University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine – Section of Cardiology to conduct research in skeletal muscle biology. The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr. Tadashi Yoshida and Dr. Patrice Delafontaine.  The project involves, but is not limited to, studying the changes in skeletal muscle molecular signaling pathways, physiology and function in multiple chronic disease models including cardiovascular disease and cancer.  The position involves both in vitro and in vivo studies.  Experience in both basic molecular biology and in handling rodents is highly desirable.

Research in the laboratory focuses on molecular mechanisms of prostate cancer progression and therapeutic resistance. In particular, we have been investigating the mechanisms by which androgen receptor splice variants mediate resistance of prostate cancer to androgen deprivation therapy. We are also characterizing other proteins and non-coding RNAs that are critically involved in prostate cancer progression.

The neutron physics group at Tulane University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position to participate in two cold neutron beam experiments: BL3, a next generation beam neutron lifetime experiment, now under construction; and parity-violating neutron spin rotation in liquid helium. Both experiments will run at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The Huang Lab aims to understand the molecular mechanisms of liver cancer development associated with alcoholic liver diseases and non-alcoholic liver diseases. The Forensic Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System is offered through the Forensic Neuropsychiatry division of the Tulane Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The goal of the fellowship is to enhance and broaden the fellow’s forensic assessment skills. Under supervision, fellows will conduct forensic evaluations at an inpatient forensic hospital (Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System – ELMHS) and in private cases.  Fellows will be responsible for performing a wide variety of forensic mental health assessments with forensic patients, incarcerated individuals, as well as those in the community.

A wide range of evaluations are requested at the ELMHS forensic state hospital and include: competency to stand trial (CST) evaluations, evaluations for malingering, psychodiagnostic clarification, intellectual and cognitive evaluations, and violence risk evaluations. Evaluees are justice-involved individuals who have been adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI) or deemed incompetent to stand trial by the court. Fellows will be responsible for selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests with the goal of writing high-quality integrated forensic reports.

Additional forensic assessment opportunities are available through conducting private evaluations. These evaluations consist of referrals from attorneys, courts, and medical-legal professionals. Private forensic cases will encompass both criminal and civil areas. Typical referrals include competency to stand trial evaluations, violence risk assessments, and trauma and PTSD evaluations with both federal and state agencies. A large portion of case referrals are for mitigation and resentencing evaluations for Federal Court.

The Early Psychosis Intervention Clinic New Orleans (EPIC-NOLA) is recruiting for a one-year clinical psychology fellowship position expected to start in January 2024. EPIC-NOLA includes an early detection and intervention service integrated with several clinical and services level research projects. EPIC-NOLA hosts a Learning Health System (LHS) with a custom-built informatics platform to support quality improvement and practice-based research. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work under the supervision of a child psychologist and the Medical Director at EPIC-NOLA and with a child psychiatric fellow to assess all clinical high-risk referrals for attenuated psychosis syndrome (APS).
