Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in Organic Chemistry at SDU in Odense
The Department of Physics, Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense invites applications for a postdoctoral position embedded in the laboratories of the Section of Chemistry as part of a Novo Nordisk Foundation project on the semi-synthesis of pleuromutilin derivatives as new antibiotics.
The research group is specialized in the synthesis of antibiotics as well modified nucleic acids and has access to state-of-the-art facilities within synthesis, purification and spectroscopy. Our lab is strongly engaged in on-site collaborations with colleagues from theoretical chemistry, pharmacy and clinical microbiology.
We are seeking an experienced organic chemist for a one-year postdoctoral position focused on the design and semi-synthesis of novel antibacterial agents. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team working to combat multi-resistant Gram-negative infections (CREs and 3GCs) through innovative chemical strategies.
The postdoctoral project is part of our current activities on developing new antibiotics based on pleuromutilins. The goal of this project is to identify a hit compound specifically targeting multi-resistant Gram-negative pathogens by introducing new modifications to the natural product Pleuromutilin. This will involve semi-synthetic approaches to generate derivatives with improved activity and decreased resistance potential.
Deadline : 21 January 2026.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Positions within Robotics for Laboratory Automation
SDU Robotics currently has an open 2-year postdoc position in relation CAPeX; specifically, for the development of a robotic solution for automation of laboratory experiments that require manipulation of tubes, fragile glass vials, and liquids. The robotic solution should be flexible in the sense that it should be able to conduct several experiments with little user-intervention and operate alongside humans. Consequently, visual feedback must be used for adapting the robot behavior to the changing environment. The postdoc should contribute to the deployment of the developed solution in laboratories in both SDU and DTU. The successful candidate will work closely with other PhDs and postdoc candidates in CAPeX.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc position(s) at The Digital Democracy Centre (DDC)
The Digital Democracy Centre (DDC) at the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, invites applications for one or more full-time Postdoc positions within the interdisciplinary and cross-European research project FOOD-FRAMES.
The FOOD-FRAMES project explores how the food information environment across nine European countries affects sustainable food choices, often hindering the transition to healthier and more sustainable diets. The FOOD-FRAMES project adopts a systems approach to move beyond individual-centred discussions and contribute to a food information environment that supports sustainable and healthy diets.
At the DDC, Lena Frischlich serves as principal investigator. Frischlich’s research examines how digitalization creates new opportunity structures for both threats to democratic integrity and the fostering of democratic resilience. In the FOOD-FRAMES project, the Postdoc and Frischlich will examine the “supply” of misinformation and politicized debates about sustainable food choices in digital environments and examine the effects of the food information environment on citizens’ attitudes and behavioural intentions.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in selective visual attention and color vision
Color is a highly effective cue for directing attention, particularly when colors in a scene are dissimilar. However, there is currently no measure of color dissimilarity (distance) that accurately reflects selective attention. This project aims to develop a color representation in which the distance between hues accurately reflects the effectiveness of attentional selection between them. In a series of experiments using electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings of frequency-tagged steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs), the project will assess processing of attended and unattended colors in healthy adults performing a feature-based attention task while stimulus colors are varied systematically. The results will be highly relevant for basic research on visual attention and working memory and have practical applications, such as optimizing color selection for attentional purposes.
The successful candidate will be required to design, program and conduct EEG-experiments, analyze and interpret EEG and behavioral data and present results at conferences and in journal publications. This project is theoretically and technically sophisticated and a candidate with a solid understanding of color vision and strong analytic and quantitative skills (programming, digital signal processing, statistics) is sought.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in selective visual attention and rhythmic sampling
Our subjective experience of the world is continuous. However, it has been proposed that attention samples the input from our senses in roughly 7-8 discrete ‘snapshots’ per second. This theory is supported by many studies, but theoretical and methodological critiques have been raised, and some researchers have not found supporting evidence. This project will systematically and rigorously test the theory of rhythmic attentional sampling in focused and divided attention in a series of experiments using a combination of electroencephalographic (EEG) recordings of frequency-tagged steady-state visual evoked potentials and behavioral measures in healthy human participants combined with quantitative modelling.
The successful candidate will be required to design, program and conduct EEG-experiments, analyze and interpret EEG and behavioral data and present results at conferences and in journal publications. This project is theoretically and technically sophisticated and a candidate with strong analytic and quantitative skills (programming, digital signal processing, modelling, statistics) is sought.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Position in Orthopaedic Engineering
We are looking for a researcher who is excited about building practical technology that can help surgeons make more accurate, patient-specific decisions during orthopaedic surgery. The role will involve working with tools that analyse how bones move during functional tasks, but with a focus on improving the quality of the motion data itself. Although detailed joint models already exist in the literature, these models are typically driven by motion captured from skin-mounted markers, which introduce errors from soft-tissue artefact. By integrating ultrasound with MRI and high-precision tracking, this project aims to capture much more accurate, joint motion in individual patients, allowing us to identify where bones impinge, how joint clearance changes with movement, and how different surgical decisions, such as resection depth or implant rotation, affect joint mechanics with greater precision than is currently possible.
The BEC is dedicated to fostering a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive research environment. We value people from all backgrounds and experiences, and we actively support a culture where everyone can thrive. This post will be an important part of our friendly, collaborative, and energetic research group. The successful candidate will work closely with students, academic colleagues, and potential industrial partners, contributing to a positive, open, and supportive research culture.
