(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Researcher/Assistant Professor Position in Political Science as part of the ERC-funded Lobbying (A)symmetry Project
The LOBBYMETRY project addresses two types of imbalances in lobbying: 1) mobilisation asymmetries, which exclude some actors from the policy debate, and 2) information asymmetries, which empower specific groups in their exchanges with policymakers. The project analyses these asymmetries and their relationship to each other, as well as their effects on the ways in which sectional and public interests feed into policymaking.
The project studies these asymmetries across populations of interest organisations in European countries and at European Union level, as well as within the climate, digital and health policy fields, that vary strongly in mobilisation asymmetries and constitute areas where well- or ill-informed policies have vast consequences for humanity at large. LOBBYMETRY strives to open the black-box of policymaker-lobbyist information exchange within these areas, develop measures of informational quality and accuracy in lobbying, and evaluate how and when lobbying pulls outcomes away from the public interest.
Methodologically, the project combines cross-country surveys, cross-venue textual data, and different forms of participant observation of the information exchanges between policymakers and interest organisations. This combination of methods will generate unprecedented quantitative and qualitative evidence on lobbyist-policymaker information exchange in varying contexts.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research assistant position in glucosinolate transporter biology
The VILLUM Investigator project has focus on Plant Transportomics. Transport of metabolites across cellular borders is essential for plant fitness and survival and has proven important in controlling key quality traits in agriculture. Yet, the function of thousands of transporters is largely unknown. As a unconventional idea we use plant extract as substrates. The project aims at creating a first-of-its-kind transportomics database that includes substrate specificity of every transporter in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, thale cress. Moreover, the chemical language of plants will be decoded by mapping the metabolites exuded and the transporters present at the root during stress conditions when intense communication occurs. The knowledge gained and molecular tools generated will have application in sustainable agriculture.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc of Geochemistry
Natural hydrogen may have widespread occurrence in southwest Greenland as a combination of ancient and continuously producing resources, and large rock formations exist that may constitute hydrogen-generating sources. The potential hydrogen-generating rocks in the identified exploration areas will be described by their lithology and mineralogy to establish the pertinent mineral assemblages that should be tested to determine the possible reaction schemes and their kinetics. This Postdoc project will include mineralogical characterization of the various hydrogen source rocks from Greenland using micro-XRF, powder-XRD, and electron microscopy techniques. A key component of this project will focus on detailed Raman spectroscopic analyses in search of hydrogen-bearing fluid inclusions to trace evidence for natural hydrogen generation, as well as accompanying molecules such as methane. The candidate for this position should therefore have extensive knowledge and expertise with Raman spectroscopy. Fieldwork in Greenland will also be part of this project, and thus previous field experience in an alpine environment is mandatory for safety reasons. The postdoc’s duties will include research within geochemistry, and the post may also include performance of other duties.

About The University of Copenhagen, Denmark – Official Website
The University of Copenhagen is a public research university in Copenhagen, Denmark. Founded in 1479, the University of Copenhagen is the second-oldest university in Scandinavia, and ranks as one of the top universities in the Nordic countries and Europe.
Its establishment sanctioned by Pope Sixtus IV, the University of Copenhagen was founded by Christian I of Denmark as a Catholic teaching institution with a predominantly theological focus. In 1537, it was re-established by King Christian III as part of the Lutheran Reformation. Up until the 18th century, the university was primarily concerned with educating clergymen. Through various reforms in the 18th and 19th century, the University of Copenhagen was transformed into a modern, secular university, with science and the humanities replacing theology as the main subjects studied and taught.
The University of Copenhagen consists of six different faculties, with teaching taking place in its four distinct campuses, all situated in Copenhagen. The university operates 36 different departments and 122 separate research centres in Copenhagen, as well as a number of museums and botanical gardens in and outside the Danish capital. The University of Copenhagen also owns and operates multiple research stations around Denmark, with two additional ones located in Greenland. Additionally, The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences and the public hospitals of the Capital and Zealand Region of Denmark constitute the conglomerate Copenhagen University Hospital.
A number of prominent scientific theories and schools of thought are namesakes of the University of Copenhagen. The famous Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum mechanics was conceived at the Niels Bohr Institute, which is part of the university. The Department of Political Science birthed the Copenhage
