(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Research Fellow (i-MOBYL)

This is an exciting opportunity to join i-MOBYL, a European consortium project exploring how young adolescents (aged 11-15 years) can be empowered to travel more actively, independently, and sustainably in their everyday lives. This Research Fellow role is offered at 0.8 FTE for two years. Working with Dr. Eleanor Ratcliffe and an international consortium of academics, practitioners, and community partners, you will:

  • Coordinate a Living Lab based in north-west Guildford, with a local secondary school and municipal partner; and
  • Lead mixed-methods research to assess the acceptability, feasibility, and potential impacts of mobility interventions.

The role combines community engagement and co-design, data collection and analysis, collaboration with local and international stakeholders, and the dissemination of findings through academic and non-academic outputs. You will be working with project partners across the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland, and the UK.

As a postdoctoral researcher you will join Surrey’s Environmental Psychology Research Group (EPRG), an internationally-renowned centre for teaching and research on environmental psychology that has been active since the 1970s. The EPRG provides a supportive and dynamic setting for the professional development of early-career researchers, and the opportunity to collaborate with world leaders in environmental psychology.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Fellow in Mental Health Questionnaires, Nutrition and Data Analysis

We are seeking an experienced and intellectually ambitious Research Fellow / Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Social Brain and Development Lab in the School of Psychology at the University of Surrey.

This is an 18-month fixed-term post supporting Professor Kathrin Cohen Kadosh’s research on nutrition, the gut microbiome, cognition, development and mental health. The postholder will contribute to Surrey’s role in the Horizon Europe NUTRIMIND project, which investigates how diet, biological markers, the gut microbiome and mental health interact across the lifespan.

The role will focus on the intellectual integration of Surrey’s contribution to NUTRIMIND and related gut–brain research. This includes bringing together evidence and data across mental-health outcomes, dietary exposure, sleep, cognition, biological markers, microbiome-related measures and developmental context.

The postholder will work closely with Professor Cohen Kadosh, members of the Social Brain and Development Lab, junior research staff, and consortium partners across Europe.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow on Machine Learning for Perceptual Quality Prediction of Spatial Music

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow (RF) position for 12 months within the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey, UK, to work on building machine learning and AI models for perceptual quality prediction of spatial music. 

The post is funded by a leading industry partner. The focus will be to develop machine learning and AI models and signal processing algorithms for perceptual quality prediction and rating of songs reproduced using 3D rendering algorithms.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow on Perceptual Evaluations and Data Curation for Spatial Music

Applications are invited for a Research Fellow (RF) position for 8 months within the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP), University of Surrey, UK, to work on perceptual evaluations and data curation for spatial music. 

The post is funded by a leading industry partner. The focus will be to organise and perform listening tests to evaluate the perceptual quality of spatialised music audio, record the listening scores from each subject, perform statistical analysis of the listening test data, and organise the data files. The post-holder is expected to collaborate with other team members, such as the Research Fellow who focuses on building machine learning models for perceptual quality prediction.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Assistant in Study Coordination and Mental Health Research

We are seeking a motivated and well-organised part-time (0.3 FTE) Research Assistant to support data collection and study coordination for research exploring links between nutrition, the gut microbiome, sleep, cognition and mental health.

The post will support Professor Kathrin Cohen Kadosh’s research within the School of Psychology, including Surrey’s contribution to the Horizon Europe NUTRIMIND project. The Research Assistant will help oversee data collection and data-flow activities, including participant recruitment and follow-up, questionnaire tracking, sleep-watch data, supplement adherence, stool-sample collection, study logs, data checks and ethics/GDPR documentation.

The post will also support ongoing work on prebiotic supplementation and perimenopausal symptoms, where participants complete online questionnaires, wear sleep-tracking devices, take a dietary supplement and provide a stool sample.

This is a part-time role, and some tasks can be carried out flexibly/remotely. However, the postholder will be expected to be an active member of the lab, attend relevant lab meetings, contribute to the day-to-day running of the research, and help with general lab tasks as needed.
