Postdoctoral position summary/title: Researcher in bounding Earth’s climate sensitivity
The Earth’s temperature response to increasing CO2 is key to understanding our past changing climate and for projecting into the future. But unfortunately, the strength of the response is not well constrained. The latest IPCC report states a likely range of 1.5 to 4.5 degrees equilibrium climate sensitivity (ECS) for a doubling of atmospheric CO2, but with an up to 10 percent likelihood of it being above 6 degrees. In particular the risks involved with Earth possibly having a high equilibrium climate sensitivity are concerning, both scientifically as well as practically.

(05) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Environmental microbiology.
The position will be associated with several projects studying the role of the microbiome in animal response to xenobiotics, such as water-borne toxins and environmental contaminants, in ecotoxicological test systems as well as in the environment. In these projects, laboratory studies with model zooplankton species, a cladoceran Daphnia and a copepod Nitocra are combined with the analysis of field-collected Baltic zooplankton species. The overarching aim is to identify the microbiome composition associated with functional properties that convey fitness benefits and stress tolerance

(06) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in aDNA.
The Centre for Palaeogenetics is looking for a two-year postdoctoral researcher. The main goal of the project is to recover and analyze genome-wide data from specimens that are from one hundred thousand and up to far beyond one million years old. The analyses will be aimed at developing a better understanding of evolutionary processes in wild mammals, such as speciation, introgression and adaptation. The primary methods used in the project will be ancient DNA laboratory analysis of prehistoric bones and teeth, as well as advanced computational analyses of the resulting data. The research group working on this project is international and interdisciplinary.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 24 May 2021
(07) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Artificial Intelligence and Law.
The research in the field of AI and Law includes both methodological issues in connection with system design and regulatory aspects.
The basic approach is based on the fact that information and communication technology must be developed and used in accordance with legal and ethical principles. This is especially true of AI-based applications comprising self-learning systems and dynamic decision-making algorithms that cannot be explained by humans.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 31 May 2021
(08) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Researcher in the GENPARENT Project.
The position as a researcher is connected to the comparative social policy research carried out at SOFI (www.sofi.su.se/forskning/tre-forskningsavdelningar/socpol) and part of the project GENPARENT; Revealing Sources of Gendered Parenthood: A multi-method comparative study of the transition to parenthood in same-sex and opposite-sex couples (www.sofi.su.se/genparent), funded by the European Research Council (ERC). The project focuses on the division of work and care in same-sex and different-sex couples with children in the Nordic countries, the Netherlands and the United States. Based on analyses of population registers, the project aims at increasing knowledge about care-, work- and income-related consequences of the transition to parenthood.

(10) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Project assistant for installation of a polarization compensation system.
The project assistant’s task is to implement a system solution for hardware control in the quantum optics experiment.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 16 May 2021
(11) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in environmental chemistry focusing on the use of passive sampling for risk assessment of contaminated sediments.
The position will be associated with the project MOBILITY funded by the Swedish EPA. The overarching goal of MOBILITY is to generate knowledge that can help improve risk assessment procedures of contaminated sediment, including the release and spread of contaminants.
Current risk assessment procedures for sediment largely depend on the total sediment concentrations of the contaminants, while the mobility and bioavailability are governed by the dissolved fraction (Cfree). Passive sampling methods offer established approaches for quantifying Cfree in natural waters and sediments, yet they are not regularly used in monitoring or for risk assessment purposes.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 28 May 2021
(12) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Exoplanets.
The position will be associated with work relating to extrasolar planetary systems and stellar multiplicity, using high-resolution/high-contrast imaging and spectroscopy, high-precision astrometry, and other methods. Stockholm University has access to a range of facilities including membership in ESO and NOT, which are frequently used within the group. There is also interest in future instruments and facilities such as ERIS, JWST and E-ELT

(13) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics.
The postdoc will participate in research projects, supervised by Profs. Erik Sonnhammer, Claudia Kutter and other participants in the projects. The goal of the project is to develop and apply gene regulatory network (GRN) inference methods in order to discover new regulatory mechanisms. The methods will primarily be applied to the repertoire of RNA binding proteins (RBPs). Both in-house and public data from e.g. ENCODE will be used to infer GRNs, and novel regulatory links of particular interest will be validated in the Kutter lab. The methods for network inference will be developed within the Sonnhammer group. The produced networks will be analyzed for regulatory interactions linked to known RBP functions and lncRNA binding, the most important of which will be validated experimentally.

(15) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Atmospheric Chemistry.
There is clear epidemiological evidence that fine particles, which are ubiquitous in ambient air, have a negative effect on human health. However, the mechanisms behind these effects are still poorly understood. Therefore, it is not known which particle properties are the most relevant for causing health effects, leading to large uncertainties regarding the harmfulness of various particle sources. Another complicating factor is the fact that particles constantly undergo both physical and chemical changes in the atmosphere (i.e. aging), which changes their properties with time.
The focus of this project is to understand how chemical and physical changes of airborne particles affect their toxicity. A Potential Aerosol Mass (PAM) reactor will be used to generate aged aerosol samples both in the laboratory and in real world environments. Acellular assays will be used to measure the oxidative potential of the particles, which indicates their potential to generate oxidative stress. In addition, several other analytical techniques will be used to monitor the chemical and physical changes in the particles.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 16 May 2021.
