Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: NEUROMODULATION OF FEEDING-RELATED NEURAL CIRCUITS
Postdoctoral positions are available (open until filled) to explore neuromodulation of neural circuits influencing feeding-related motivation and reinforcement in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Lutas. The Lutas lab aims to understand the timescales by which monoamines, hormones, and peptides influence the ability of environmental stimuli to trigger feeding, which can lead to the development of obesity. To do so, we leverage optical approaches (multiphoton microscopy, fiber photometry, and optogenetics) that allow us to track and manipulate biochemical signals concurrent with neural signatures of spiking in the same neurons across days to months. One research direction of interest to the lab is how medications for diabetes and obesity acutely or chronically influence neural circuits controlling reward seeking behaviors with the aim of improving current medications and uncovering new treatment options.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: GENOMIC/EPIGENOMIC LANDSCAPE OF PITUITARY AND CNS TUMORS
The Neurosurgery Unit for Pituitary and Inheritable Diseases seeks applications from qualified and interested post-doctoral candidates to fill a position in bioinformatics/genomics of mammalian pituitary gland and central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Recently, our group identified the transcriptional landscape of the post-natal human pituitary gland and identified key pathogenic mechanisms underlying pituitary adenomas that cause Cushing’s disease (preprint). In the meantime, our group has actively accrued bulk RNAseq, single cell/single nucleus RNAseq, single cell multiome, bulk methylation and genomic sequencing datasets for pituitary (normal and adenoma), schwannomas and other CNS tumors associated with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2) and von Hippel Lindau disease (VHL).
