Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Assistants x2

The post-holder will conduct research in mathematical models of extra-chromosomal DNA (ecDNA) in cancer evolution pursuant to the aims and objectives of the research project under supervision of Dr Weini Huang. The candidate will work in the evolutionary theory team led by Dr. Huang, currently composed of 5 other members working on different topics of cancer evolution. The project is supported by one of the biggest cancer research programs, Cancer Grand Challenges, funded by Cancer Research UK and the National Cancer Institute (US).

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Assistant

Applications are invited for a highly motivated individual to work within Barts Liver Centre, Centre for Immunobiolgy. The successful candidate will work alongside Professor Alazawi in his MRC-funded laboratory to lead a project integrating single cell multiomics/TCR sequencing alongside cutting-edge in vitro techniques to study non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). This post is funded by a two year MRC Project Grant studying immune cell gene expression and function using antibody-derived single cell RNA sequencing in multiple tissue samples from patients with different stages of NASH before and after bariatric surgery. Functional immunological and advanced tissue imaging techniques will also be employed.

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Polymer/Exactymer Synthesis

The successful candidate will seek to develop the chemistry for iterative chain extension of synthetic polymers, including, PEGs, purifying the growing polymers by organic solvent nano-filtration. This involves growing the polymers on a soluble hub molecule, to which 2 or more growing polymers are attached. In the first instance the new PDRA will synthesise hub molecules, monomers and polymers, with reactions and separations on 1-10 g scale. They will work on applications of these polymers in information storage and healthcare. They will also be expected to participate in peptide, oligosaccharide and oligonucleotide polymer programmes. It is essential for the candidate to hold a PhD (or equivalent) in organic chemistry.

The successful candidate will seek to develop the chemistry for iterative chain extension of polyethylene glycols (PEGs), purifying the growing polymers by organic solvent nano-filtration. This involves growing the polymers on a soluble hub molecule, to which two or more growing polymers are attached. The Associate will synthesise hub molecules through repeated coupling, deprotections reactions and membrane separations on 1-10 g scale. They will analyse the growing polymer chain using UPLC-MS, GPC, NMR and other techniques. They will work on applications of these polymers in drug PEGylation and Antibody-drug constructs.

It dates back to the foundation of London Hospital Medical College in 1785.
