(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN ENHANCED COEXISTENCE TECHNIQUES FOR WIRELESS TECHNOLOGIES OPERATING IN ADJACENT SPECTRA (2022-224-04840)

The ever increasing demand of wireless services by both consumer and vertical businesses has led to the proliferation of diverse radio technologies that may need to coexist in a rather narrow spectrum. For example, the 5th generation (5G) radio technology can operate over diverse spectra, including the upper 5 GHz band, which is adjacent to unlicensed bands where systems like WiFi can operate. The proliferation of wireless systems operating over adjacent bands can pose significant challenges to the support of demanding services in terms of e.g., data rates and achievable latencies due to the raised interference levels. The postdoc position focuses on 1) the analysis of co-existence of radio systems operating over adjacent spectrum bands, with particular focus on coexistence between cellular (5G/6G) and unlicensed WiFi in the 6 GHz band, 2) recommendations and requirements for best performance, and 3) design of novel mechanisms for enhancing co-existence.
