Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC AT CENTER FOR NEUROPLASTICITY AND PAIN (CNAP) (2022-224-04711)
We are seeking a post-doc within the area of biomedical engineering, with a focus on neural engineering. The candidate will work with development and test of new medical technologies to be used to investigate and modulate neuroplasticity of chronic pain in animal models. We expect that the candidate will contribute to activities within CNAP and the Neural Engineering and Neurophysiology of Movement’ research group. Some teaching activities within the research area and related areas may be expected.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN SIMPLE BEAM-STEERABLE ANTENNAS
The research focus of the post-doctoral position is in the area of developments of high-efficiency and low-cost beam-steerable reflectarray and transmitarray antennas for satellite communications. Since some beam-steerable reflectarray and transmitarray antennas have been reported in the open literature, the main work is to propose novel, high-efficiency, and low-cost solutions to manipulate the phase shifts of unit cells of reflectarray and transmitarray antennas, thereby steering the radiation beam dynamically. As the application scenarios are for satellite communications, the beam switching speed, stabilities, cost, and efficiency of the beam-steerable antennas should be carefully considered. Moreover, artificial intelligence will also be involved to maximize the gain (efficiency) of the beam-steerable reflectarray and transmitarray antennas by optimizing the phase distributions of the reflectarray and transmitarray antennas.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN MICROBIAL COMMUNITY ANALYSIS
The postdoc position is part of ongoing research to characterise and describe the microbiome of Denmark, within the scope of a large grant from the Poul Due Jensen foundation: “Microflora Danica – the Microbiome of Denmark”. Since 2019, we have collected, and metagenome sequenced 10,000 samples across Denmark and are now looking for a motivated and independent postdoc to pursue and define numerous research questions within this scope.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: POSTDOC IN GAN MMIC POWER AMPLIFIERS FOR K-BAND SATELLITE SYSTEMS
Satellite communication systems, such as the low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations, have evolved to accommodate high capacity, data rates and flexible area coverage expected in emerging applications. Enabling technologies such as beam steerable antennas and spectral efficient modulation schemes (e.g. OFDM) are adopted to fulfill the desired performance specifications. This further leads to the high linearity requirement on the power amplifiers in the system in order to handle the high peak-to-average power ratio presented by the spectral efficient signals.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION: HUMAN-IN-THE-LOOP DATA MINING AND DEEP LEARNING ON GRAPH DATA
Human-in-the-loop Data Mining and Deep Learning on Graph Data: Graph data, e.g., social and biological networks, financial transactions, transportation systems, and telecommunication networks are pervasive in the natural world, where nodes are entities with features and edges represent relations among them. Machine learning and deep learning over graphs become ubiquitous, for instance, in cheminformatics (drug discovery, designing molecular structures with desired properties, virtual screening) and bioinformatics (drug-disease association and protein interaction prediction), detecting malwares and abnormal transactions, classifying customers based on calling behavior, feeds on Twitter, Facebook, and churn prediction. Despite deep learning models often achieving state-of-the-art performance in many tasks, they are “black-box”: It is difficult to understand which aspects of the input graph data drive the decisions of the model. Interpretability can improve the model’s transparency related to fairness, privacy, and other safety challenges, thus enhancing the trust in decision-critical applications and ease their adoption in life science, health, law enforcement, and financial domains. To this aim, we shall design a user-in-the-loop interpretation framework that translates deep learning-based findings back to users, supports “why” and “why-not” questions over prediction results (e.g., “why a new app is classified as a malware”? Or “what minimum, valid changes in a molecule structure would optimize desired chemical and biological properties”?), assists users in formulating relevant questions with minimum efforts, and incorporate users’ interactive feedback to improve training data and deep learning models.
