Summary of RA Position: The Postdoctoral Researcher will be a member of the DFG funded Research Training Group 2530 (Biota-mediated effects on carbon cycling in estuaries) and the lab of Applied Plant Ecology. We plan to investigate effects of biotic interactions on carbon cycling in estuarine marshes. Research could focus on above- or belowground processes of plants and/or vegetation in these ecosystems. Approaches could include studying variation along major gradients as well as experimental work on effects of hydroperiod and/or temperature on biotic interactions and carbon cycling. We run a marsh organ experimental facility as well as an experimental mesocosm-warming facility at the Institute of Plant Sciences and Microbiology and a world-unique warming experiment in a Wadden Sea salt marsh.
