(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics and the Human Intestinal Microbiome

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioinformatics and the Human Intestinal Microbiome at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Chemistry, Bioscience and Environmental Engineering. The position is vacant from January 2023.

The objective of the position is to strengthen research, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for further qualification toward top academic positions.

Postdoctoral Fellow is employed for a period of two years.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be affiliated with the following project: “The role of Blastocystis in inflammatory bowel disease”, financed by The Research Council of Norway. This is a large interdisciplinary project with collaborators at the Stavanger University Hospital, the Staten Serum Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark, and the Institute of Parasitology in České Budějovice, Czech Republic.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Energy Planning

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a two-year position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Energy Planning at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering. The position is vacant from January 1, 2023.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow for the topic of Positive Energy Districts at the University of Stavanger. The ambition is that the relevant candidate will strengthen our research and innovation activities related to the development of Positive Energy Districts. 

The postdoctoral project will include to further the design, planning and implementation of the first positive energy district in the Stavanger region in close collaboration with the city of Stavanger and regional stakeholders. The city of Stavanger was recently selected for the EU mission 100 climate neutral cities and the development of positive energy districts is a central component of the city’s aim to become climate neutral by 2030.

The University of Stavanger  is a university located in Stavanger, Norway. UiS was established in 2005 when the former Høgskolen i Stavanger  received university status. It had about 11,000 students and 1,370 administrative, faculty and service staff in 2017.
