(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoctoral Fellow in Geosciences

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Geosciences at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Energy Resources. The starting date for this position is no later than 01.05.2024. The objective of the position is to strengthen research, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for further qualification toward top academic positions. Postdoctoral Fellow is employed for a period of 2 years. The qualifying project will be carried out at the University of Stavanger. It is assumed that the appointee will work full time on the project and that she/he will participate in the academic community. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be affiliated with the following project «Cloud computing and data science for reservoir characterization». In collaboration with industry and academic partners at the National Centre for Sustainable Subsurface Utilization of the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS2030), the postdoctor will help implement and test cloud-based solution(s) for visualization and analysis of seismic and well data in the Norwegian continental shelf. On this system, the postdoctor will apply existent or develop new Machine Learning models for the interpretation of seismic and well data, and reservoir characterization. This with the aim of examining problems relevant to the NCS2030 centre, such as the identification of potential reservoirs for CO2/H2 storage and geothermal energy.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Service Leadership and Digitalization

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Service Leadership and Digitalization at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Norwegian School of Hotel Management. The position is vacant now. The objective of the position is to strengthen the research on digital service leadership, service digitalization and service intelligence, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for further qualification toward top academic positions. This position also has a teaching component and will contribute to the development of the study program in digital service leadership. Postdoctoral Fellow is employed for a period of 3 years. The employment period includes compulsory work as course development, teaching and supervision of students. The qualifying project will be carried out at the University of Stavanger. It is assumed that the appointee will work full time on the project and that she/he will participate in the academic community.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in Risk Management and Societal Safety

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in Risk Management and Societal Safety related to hydrogen at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Safety, Economics and Planning.  The starting date for this position is no later than June 1st, 2024. The objective of the position is to strengthen research, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for further qualification toward top academic positions. Postdoctoral Fellow is employed for a period of 3 years. The Postdoctoral Fellow will be affiliated with a project at the Environment-friendly Energy Research center – HyValue hosted by NORCE. The position is funded by the Research Council of Norway. The qualifying project will be carried out at the University of Stavanger. It is assumed that the appointee will work full time on the project and that she/he will participate in the academic community.

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow in sociotechnical aspects of Positive Energy Districts

The University of Stavanger invites applicants for a position as Postdoctoral Fellow in contextual analysis of sociotechnical aspects of Positive Energy Districts at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Media and Social Sciences. The position is vacant from 01.01.2024 or at the earliest possible thereafter. The Postdoctoral Fellow is employed in a full-time position for a period of 2.5 years. The objective of the position is to strengthen research, and to give researchers/scholars holding a doctoral degree the opportunity for further qualification toward top academic positions. The position will be linked to the research project ENERGY4ALL – Energy as a Common Pool Resource, externally financed with funds from the Research Council of Norway (Driving Urban Transitions call). The project has received NOK 20 million in funding, with 14 partners in 4 countries. The University of Stavanger coordinates two of the work packages on contextual analysis of sociotechnical aspects of Positive Energy Districts.
