(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  EMBL CPP Visitor Fellowships (for external PhDs and postdocs)

These fellowships are run by the Scientific Visitor Programme office to provide logistic and organisational support to successful awardees before and during their stay. The funds are provided as reimbursements against cost and are flexible with other funding sources available to the awardees (i.e. can act as a top-up)  – as long as all sources of funding are declared to the Scientific Visitor Programme office.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Cortes-Ciriano Group

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position in the fields of cancer genomics and long-read sequencing data analysis. We are looking for an intrinsically motivated, talented, and hypothesis-driven individual with experience in analysing high-throughput sequencing data sets. This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain in-depth knowledge and expertise in genomic medicine and long-read sequencing data analysis.    You will be expected to lead the development of scalable and creative computational solutions for sequencing data analysis. Specifically, your project will involve developing computational methods for analysing a unique collection of hundreds of long-read whole-genome sequencing data sets from human tumours spanning multiple cancer types, including adult and paediatric tumours.  It is essential that you are dedicated to lead your own project while also being a team player and willing to engage with our national and international collaborators.

Deadline : 30 April 2023

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow

A key focus of this position is the development of the High Throughput Tomography (HiTT) pipeline. This includes the development of sample handling processes, advanced instrumentation and data collection techniques for imaging biological samples. The goal is to produce a streamlined hard X-ray imaging technique pipeline to take a user from an unprepared sample though to a 3D reconstruction of the X-ray data collected on that sample. The development of common sample mounts and/or the ability to transfer samples easily between different facilities will be essential to the collaboration and ensuring compatibility between modalities need also to be explored. Vital to the success of the project is the collaborative spirit between imaging facilities and imaging modalities. All developments will be carried out in such a way that their implementation elsewhere is both possible and expected.

Deadline : 27 April 2023

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellowship: spatial and single-cell computational biology for precision oncology

Redirection of autologous T-cells through bispecific antibodies (BsAb) is an important therapeutic principle to treat B cell lymphomas. Treatment responses differ strongly between patients. There is an urgent medical need for better understanding of resistance mechanisms, biomarkers for response prediction, and combinatorial targets for response improvement. Both tumour intrinsic, e.g. genetic and epigenetic alterations, and extrinsic factors, e.g. composition and functional state of the lymph node microenvironment, are of interest.

Deadline : 27 April 2023

(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Chemoinfomatics and Metabolomics

Develop analysis strategies to mine large-scale metabolomics data in the context of microbiota drug metabolism and apply chemoinformatics approaches to interpret drug biotransformation patterns. Get involved in experimental design of experiments and the validation of computational predictions of microbiota-drug interactions.

Deadline : 14 April 2023

About The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Germany – Official Website

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a molecular biology research institution supported by 27 member states, two prospect states, and one associate member state. EMBL was created in 1974 and is an intergovernmental organization funded by public research money from its member states. Research at EMBL is conducted by approximately 85 independent groups covering the spectrum of molecular biology. The list of independent groups at EMBL can be found at The Laboratory operates from six sites: the main laboratory in Heidelberg, and sites in Hinxton (the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), in England), Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Rome (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain). EMBL groups and laboratories perform basic research in molecular biology and molecular medicine as well as train scientists, students, and visitors. The organization aids in the development of services, new instruments and methods, and technology in its member states. Israel is the only full member state located outside Europe.
