(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Computational Analysis of Human Microbiome Data
We are seeking highly motivated computational biologists to join the research group of Peer Bork within the Structural and Computational Biology Unit as a postdoctoral fellow. This bioinformatics group works on a wide range of topics with a current focus on microbiome analysis in ecosystems like the human gut, soil and ocean.
Deadline : 16 March 2022
(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Computational methods development
Project DECODE aims to comprehensively map, model and understand genetic networks in complex tissues in vivo, in the living organism, at single cell resolution. The project combines high-throughput reverse genetics by cell type specific inducible CRISPR-Cas9 gene knockout followed by single-cell RNA-seq (Perturb-Seq), imaging-based phenotyping, statistical data analysis, and mathematical and computational modelling. To drive this ERC Synergy funded collaboration between the cancer and developmental genetics labs of Michael Boutros (DKFZ) and Jan Lohmann (University of Heidelberg) and the computational groups of Wolfgang Huber (EMBL) and Oliver Stegle (DKFZ & EMBL), we are looking for a postdoc in the areas of probabilistic modelling, statistical inference and scientific computing.
Deadline : 28 February 2022
(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
We are offering a 2-year postdoc position in the group of Dr. Marco Marcia (https://www.embl.org/groups/marcia/) at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), one of the highest-ranked scientific research organisations worldwide. The group is based in Grenoble, France.
Deadline : 25 February 2022
(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral fellow
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Marioni laboratory and use single-cell genomics data to construct and compare senescence trajectories for cells.
This project is part of the new NIH-funded Cellular Senescence Network Consortium (SenNet). You will be based at the EMBL-EBI in Hinxton working as part of a larger collaboration with investigators predominantly based in the US.
Deadline : 22 February 2022
(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
Single-molecule localization microscopy (SMLM) is a super-resolution technique that can achieve nanometer resolution by determining precise positions of single fluorophores. In a collaborative effort, we recently developed DECODE, a deep-learning based software that extends SMLM to densely labeled samples and fast live-cell imaging (Speiser et al, Nature Methods, 2021). The goal of the BMBF-funded project ‘Simalesam’ is to develop deep learning algorithms that maximize resolution for all variants of SMLM, even under challenging imaging conditions. To this end, we will develop a detailed simulation engine of the imaging process, and machine learning algorithms for data-driven optimization of simulations and image analysis. We will share these algorithms through easily usable and powerful software packages.
Deadline : 20 February 2022
(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow – Thornton Research Group
In this project we propose to develop strategies for predicting and mapping genome-encoded triterpene scaffold diversity across the plant kingdom, and in so doing increase our understanding of the structure, function, mechanisms and kingdom specific expansion of the TTS enzyme superfamily and of triterpene scaffold structural diversity. This work will provide a framework for understanding the physiological and ecological roles of triterpenes in plants and for harnessing plant chemicals and enzymes for medicinal, agricultural and industrial biotechnology applications.
Deadline : 18 February 2022
About The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), Germany – Official Website
The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) is a molecular biology research institution supported by 27 member states, two prospect states, and one associate member state. EMBL was created in 1974 and is an intergovernmental organization funded by public research money from its member states. Research at EMBL is conducted by approximately 85 independent groups covering the spectrum of molecular biology. The list of independent groups at EMBL can be found at www.embl.org. The Laboratory operates from six sites: the main laboratory in Heidelberg, and sites in Hinxton (the European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), in England), Grenoble (France), Hamburg (Germany), Rome (Italy) and Barcelona (Spain). EMBL groups and laboratories perform basic research in molecular biology and molecular medicine as well as train scientists, students, and visitors. The organization aids in the development of services, new instruments and methods, and technology in its member states. Israel is the only full member state located outside Europe.
