Postdoctoral position summary/title: A Postdoctoral Research Fellow is open in Dr. Bray Speth’s DBER (Discipline-Based Education Research) lab in the Biology Department at Saint Louis University. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will assist the PI (Dr. Bray Speth) on an NSF-funded project in the area of undergraduate biology education, specifically targeted to developing a framework for curriculum grounded in a systems and systems thinking paradigm. The successful candidate will work at Saint Louis University, and collaborate with a network of biology education researchers (faculty, graduate students and postdocs) at other institutions.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoc with solid expertise in protein biochemistry and cellular biology. Previous experience with studying protein-RNA interactions using purified systems and cellular imaging is a plus. Our lab focuses on understanding the regulation of RNA binding protein function and RNA interactions and how these processes are linked to neurodegenerative disorders. Determining factors that control protein aggregation and RNA processing are among our main goals.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: A postdoctoral position is now available in the laboratory of Dr. Kyle McCommis. Successful candidates are expected to have a doctoral degree in a life sciences-related field, with research experience in molecular biology and/or animal physiology. The laboratory of Dr. Kyle McCommis focuses on the importance of mitochondrial metabolism in the pathogenesis and treatment of metabolic diseases such as heart failure and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Projects will combine in vivo animal physiology and pathology, isolated primary cell and immortalized cell cultures, as well as biochemical and molecular biology techniques.
