We are looking for a motivated person with a strong interest in clinically relevant veterinary parasitoses. Research focus: Leishmania infantum/leishmaniosis.
You should be an open and flexible person with a willingness to identify new issues and get to the bottom of them. You are a team player and bring the necessary enthusiasm for this challenging and very fulfilling position.
You should fulfil the following requirements:

  • degree in veterinary medicine, ideally from an EAEVE certified university;
  • some experience in veterinary parasitology and/or experience in research, ideally including statistics and/or bioinformatics;

The Institute for Communication Science and Media Research at the University of Zurich (IKMZ) is looking to fill a position as a doctoral student at the chair of Prof. Dr. Thomas Friemel as of January 1, 2025 or by arrangement. The Department of Media Use and Media Effects ( www.mediennutzung.ch ) focuses on the use and effects of digital media in research and teaching. For this purpose, an interdisciplinary lab on the topic of data donation was set up in recent years ( datadonation.uzh.ch ) and a technological infrastructure for carrying out data donation projects was developed ( github.com/uzh/ddm ). To further develop the Data Donation Module and to analyze donated social media content, we are looking for a person who has the appropriate technical skills and is also interested in working on empirical data donation projects such as the Digital Meal project ( digital-meal.ch ).

The research cluster “Conspiracy Theories in Online Environments and Their Religious Connotations,” will commence on Jan 1st 2025 as one of four subareas of the URPP. PhD position summary/title: PhD Position Global Mapping of Antimicrobial Resistance in Animals and Access to Veterinary Services 80 %

We are looking for an enthusiastic and quantitatively minded scholar with an interest in generating evidence that can be used to guide policies. The candidate must hold a master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, applied mathematics or related field, and have great oral and written communication skills in English.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • experience with ensemble forecasting and a strong background in statistics.
  • experience working with the programming language R, including the use of species distribution models, point pattern models, and spatial analysis packages.
  • an interest in developing web-scraping tools.

Although not mandatory, the following skills would be an asset:

  • experience using high-performance computing clusters
  • experience with Python
