The Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) is searching for new faculty to conduct innovative research and educate the next generation of global leaders.

You are invited to apply for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor faculty position in a new undergraduate program, a B.A. in Business, Organizations and Society. The program is interdisciplinary and focuses on the role and impact of business within society. Established on principles of the liberal arts, the program integrates business theory and application, and prepares students to take on roles in businesses and effectively and holistically examine the implications of business decisions for society from multiple perspectives (i.e., social, political, economic, and cultural).

The opening is at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Candidates with a strong record of interdisciplinary research in emerging areas of structural engineering are preferred.

The Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi is inviting applications for tenured faculty positions within the Economics program. We are particularly interested in candidates working in 1) applied microeconomics, 2) macroeconomics (including international macroeconomics, development, and growth), and 3) econometrics. However, we will consider outstanding candidates in all fields of economics. The Literature and Creative Writing Program at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to appoint up to three candidates to a multi-year visiting professor position in Literature (open-rank, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) starting on September 1, 2022. 

The ideal candidate will have a solid grounding in the study of African, Asian, European, or Anglophone literatures. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in more than one geographical area and work comparatively across multiple languages and literary traditions. Candidates whose work engages with topics such as translation, migration, and diasporic writing are particularly welcome to apply.

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for a tenured faculty position in Mechanical Engineering in the broad area of materials science and engineering. The available opening is at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. Candidates with a strong record of interdisciplinary research in emerging areas are preferred, especially scholars who use experimental approaches to address fundamental and applied topics. The Division emphasizes research with tangible societal impacts, such as investigations that results in patents, prototypes, and private or public sector adoption. Areas of particular interest are advanced functional materials, 2D materials, energy materials, and nano- bio-materials.

The available opening is at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank (tenure-track open rank) appointment in Philosophy. Applicants who hold a Ph.D. should demonstrate an outstanding track record in both research and teaching. Philosophers of all research specialties are encouraged to apply, but applicants should have a demonstrated capacity to teach courses in non-Western or other traditionally under-represented areas of philosophy.

The Division of Arts and Humanities at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an open rank, full-time contract faculty position in the Theater Program. We seek an educator whose work is located in both practice and scholarship to develop our BA curriculum in the area of Live Arts/Arts as Social Practice. The ideal candidate would have teaching experience, a terminal degree and a demonstrable focus on Performance and Theater as a Social Practice. Such a person should bring into conversation – politics, activism, aesthetics, community and social structures. We seek a colleague who will lead our students in investigations and art making projects that intertwine art practices and scholarly disciplines.  All courses will be geared to students with multiple academic and creative interests, activating not only Theater Program students, but also students enrolled in majors across the university.  We are seeking a faculty member who will use this new position to open and expand our student’s engagement with theater, performance and citizenship.
