The research associate (postdoctoral fellow) will work closely with a large research team (including SLU Education Policy faculty and graduate students, researchers in the SLU PRiME education policy research center, and SLPS administrative staff) to conduct research on Missouri education data, SLPS data, and continue their own research agenda. (02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow

NIH-funded postdoctoral positions are available for highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join the laboratory of Dr. Aubin Moutal, in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at St Louis university to study novel proteins involved in chronic pain in the context of autoimmunity. Our work focuses on first identifying determinants of the transition from acute to chronic pain by reverse translating clinical findings to then perform a complete mechanistic characterization of how these new factors influence chronic vs physiological pain. The PI has a strong record of high impact papers with multiple recent publications in Science Translational Medicine, Pain, and PNAS. Through the active external collaborations with the New York University (Dr. Rajesh Khanna), the University of Arizona (Dr. Frank Porreca) and with the Institut neuromyogene in France the candidate will also grow an interest in ion channel regulation, central mechanisms of pain and paraneoplastic syndromes, respectively.

70% of breast cancers are estrogen receptor-positive and treated successfully with endocrine therapy. However, 40% of patients relapse and die from metastases that are refractory or resist endocrine therapy. This position will investigate the molecular mechanisms of endocrine resistance and the potential of a new adjuvant therapy to restore the responsiveness of endocrine-resistant breast cancers to endocrine therapy.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post Doctoral Fellow, Department of Pediatrics, Division of Medical Genetics

The candidate will join a dynamic, interdisciplinary team that uses cell biology, protein engineering, biochemistry, human immunology and molecular biology techniques to understand lysosomal dysfunction in rare genetic disorders. The successful candidate must be highly motivated with extensive experience within one or more of the following areas: single cell sequencing, cell culture, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, organelle, and cell/molecular biology, while experience with advanced imaging techniques is advantageous. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in lysosomal biology.  The candidate is expected to conduct independent lab work and have a strong record of scientific productivity.   He or she should be able to think critically about complex problems and contribute to a team-working environment to advance research projects.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow, African American Studies-1

The Department of African American Studies at Saint Louis University seeks to hire two Postdoctoral Teaching Faculty with a start date in August 2022. The department is seeking enthusiastic scholars trained in African American Studies or related fields that explore interdisciplinary connections between African American studies and the social sciences. Ideal candidates will be able to offer courses that involve qualitative or quantitative research, and/or explore connections to STEM fields. Primary duties include service to the University Core curriculum, and teaching introductory courses within the major. This position is contracted on a yearly basis, and may be renewed twice, for a total appointment period of three years. It involves a 3/3 teaching responsibility with concomitant student advising.
