The PhD Fellow will be affiliated with the project “Complex and related knowledge evolution and their impact on regional labour markets in Norway”. The project aims to provide empirical evidence on how complex and related knowledge shape the development of new economic activities across regions in Norway. PhD position summary/title: PhD Fellowship in Chemistry and Biological Science (PHARMASEA)
The project includes in-depth studies on active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) distribution, effects and risks in European coastal areas, targeting (1) occurrence, uptake and trophic transfer along regional marine food webs; (2) bioaccumulation/excretion kinetics, potential ecotoxicological effects from molecular to individual levels, and characterization of modes-of-action in model and selected marine species. The project consortium is constituted by 5 research Institutions from 4 European countries (Germany, Italy, Norway and Spain), and joining partner laboratories for both lab and field work is expected by the PhD candidate.

The University of Stavanger is a university located in Stavanger, Norway. UiS was established in 2005 when the former Høgskolen i Stavanger received university status. It had about 11,000 students and 1,370 administrative, faculty and service staff in 2017.
