Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher in computer architecture
The research to be performed in the context of this position is part of a large European project – European Processor Initiative (EPI) – where we are working towards the development of the future generation advanced processors. In order to push the boundaries for performance and efficiency, architects are now moving away from general-purpose processors and focusing more on domain-specific architectures (or accelerators). The research in this project is along that direction focusing on memory and processing solutions for different domains including Machine Learning.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in materials for energy applications studied using neutron scattering techniques
Research on materials for energy applications is a key on the pathway towards a sustainable society. Clean and sustainable sources of energy are required to reduce global warming. In this regard, new materials for energy production, storage and conversion need to be developed. We are interested in understanding the very nature of such materials. In particular, we are interested in the surfaces and interfaces, which often play a key role for technological applications, as this is the region where things are actually happening, e.g. charge separation in photovoltaics or the spitting or recombination of water in fuel cells. However, even though for many materials the bulk properties are quite well understood, knowledge about interfaces is still limited, as their investigation is experimentally more challenging.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

This position includes translational research on the treatment of pain using novel devices, as well as brain imagining studies, data analysis, and machine learning to elucidate the working mechanism of the treatments and the condition itself. You will also conduct studies to further improve and develop devices and treatments, with the ultimate goal of relieving people from their chronic and debilitating pain.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctor in mathematics
The postdoctoral project is “Quantitative Distributional Asymptotics in Metric Diophantine Approximation” and is funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg foundation. One of the aims of the project is to provide error terms in the Central Limit Theorems for Diophantine approximants which have recently been established by Michael Björklund and Alexander Gorodnik. Another aim is to establish bounds on higher correlations for measures supported on various fractals in the space of lattices of Euclidean spaces, and to use these bounds to connect such bounds to different problems in metric Diophantine approximation on fractals.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in AI and Machine Learning
We are looking for a motivated, independent postdoctoral researcher in AI and machine learning eager to work on the development of new methodologies and theory centered on the generalization properties of neural networks, specifically in the context of transfer learning. You would join a collaborative network at Chalmers with researchers in statistics and machine learning (Prof. Rebecka Jörnsten), mathematical statistics (Prof. Johan Jonasson), information theory (Prof. Giuseppe Durisi) and automatic control (Prof. Balázs Kulcsár).The post-doctoral researcher would join Rebecka Jörnsten’s research group at the Division of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (http://www.math.chalmers.se/~jornsten/). The research group comprises 4 PhD students and 2 postdoctoral researchers. The research group is focused on network modeling, data integration and regularization techniques in high-dimensional statistical modeling and neural networks. In addition to the collaborative network identified above, we also collaborate with several research groups in cancer genomics and bioinformatics.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in societal metabolism of metals in vehicles
Critical raw materials (CRM) are economically and strategically important for the European Union, but their supply is associated with high risk. Establishing a circular economy of CRM is important for reducing supply risks but requires coherent information on the life cycles of CRM-containing products. To improve the European CRM knowledge base up to 2050, the FutuRaM project, funded by Horizon Europe, will establish a methodology and reporting framework. FutuRaM addresses electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, vehicles, mining waste, slags, construction and demolition waste. The main tasks for the post doc, are to, in collaboration, (1) develop coherent future scenarios and data sets for stocks and flows of CRM, and (2) propose a reporting framework. As part of the team leading the work on vehicles, you will primarily study stocks and flows of CRM in electronics and batteries in cars using dynamic material flow analysis and contribute to suggestions on reporting frameworks.

The division of Applied Chemistry is looking for a research specialist who is highly skilled in surface sensitive techniques, processes for chemical surface modifications and fabrication of nanostructures. A number of the division’s research projects focus on topics from biomaterials and biointerfaces to sustainable materials and nanomaterials. A common denominator across most projects is the use of various chemical and physical processes to control and analyze surface properties. These surface modification protocols need to be verified and evaluated in a quantitative manner. The role of the researcher will be to support projects in the area of nano- and surface science, assist in the development of our long term research goals, and to preserve working knowledge.
