The incumbent will use a systems approach including theory, experiments, and models to advance our understanding of agroecosystem carbon, nitrogen, and water dynamics. The position will have a particular focus on improving our fundamental understanding of nitrous oxide emissions from soil. Ultimately, the work will benefit the sustainable productivity of US crop systems.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc Research Associate
The ISU group is a leading institution on the Accelerator Neutrino Neutron Interaction Experiment (ANNIE). This experiment is an advanced R&D detector at Fermilab, designed to measure the neutron yield of GeV-scale neutrino interactions in gadolinium-doped water. To accomplish this measurement, ANNIE will rely on newly developed Large Area Picosecond Photodetectors (LAPPDs) and the development of novel experimental techniques. The first of these LAPPDs has been installed in ANNIE, with more to come over the coming months. An ambitious postdoctoral researcher will be entering the experiment at a time when we have exciting new data to analyze, but commissioning is still ongoing. This is a rare opportunity to develop expertise in novel instrumentation and see an experiment through commissioning, operations, and data analysis. Successful candidates will be encouraged to take on leadership roles in these areas.

The position provides interested veterinarians with a solid, broad base in toxicology through diagnostic casework, field investigations, course work, seminars, teaching, and research. The person in this position will gain clinical and applied research experience, while working with clients of the ISU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, ISU Veterinary Field Services unit, and ISU Food Animal and Camelid Hospital. The primary roles of this position are to provide high-quality diagnostic coordination of toxicology and nutrition-based cases, conduct applied research, and to assist in the instruction of veterinary students within the ISU CVM core curriculum and the department’s professional program.
