(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in AI models for the prediction of contrails climate impact

The overall purpose of this project is to develop artificial neural networks (leveraging remote sensing detection methods) for the prediction of the climate impact derived from contrails and aviation-induced cloudiness, contributing, thus, to a better understanding of the non-CO2 impact of aviation on global warming and reducing their associated uncertainties as essential steps towards green aviation. Contrails and aviation-induced cloudiness effects on climate change show significant uncertainties since they are subject to meteorological, regional, and seasonal variations.

(08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in Robotics and AI-powered Microscopy Imaging

The aim of the project is to build a smart microscopy imaging farm for massive production of image data. It consists of multiple microscopes and fluidic systems, robotic arms, liquid handling robots and automatic incubators. The farm will be used for performing automated widefield/fluorescence imaging, long-term live cell imaging, tracking, spatial-omics and multiplexing imaging. With the AI-powered control software, data are analyzed in real-time, augmented views are added on the fly. By generating feedback control signals to control the microscope, the software will automatically change field-of-views, illumination power and other experimental conditions in order to optimize the phototoxicity and capture rare events in live cells.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc in fluid mechanics: Experiments in complex fluids wetting

Non-Newtonian fluids are all around us in nature and industry (from biological fluids to avalanches). Complex fluids flow often more irregularly than simple fluids such as water, and interact very differently with surfaces. MUCUS project funded by European Research Council (ERC) improves understanding and prediction of complex fluids’ flow over surfaces. As part of the ERC project, we announce an experimental postdoc position in wetting and surface-interaction of non-Newtonian fluids, particularly viscoelastic, yield-stress or shear-thinning fluids. This will benefit industries dealing with complex fluids, and in long term contribute to enable improved predictions of natural disasters.
