Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Assistant
We invite applications for the position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant in the School of Mathematical Sciences. The successful applicant will work in close collaboration with Dr Claudia Garetto and Prof Michael Ruzhansky on the project “Hyperbolic problems with discontinuous coefficients”, funded by EPSRC. This project aims ambitiously to develop a new systematic approach to hyperbolic problems (scalar equations and systems) with variable multiplicities and low regular (discontinuous) coefficients by building a bridge between the analytical or theoretical approach and the numerical or applied approach. It will require a first part where suitable analytical methods will be developed for hyperbolic problems with multiplicities and time and space dependent regular coefficients and a second part where these methods will be adapted to low regular coefficients via approximation and numerical methods.
Deadline : 3 March 2022
