Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  a Scientist or a PostDoc (100%) responsible for the development of “Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD)” approaches in the frame of the Horizon Europe project PARC

Within PARC, the Partnership for the Risk Assessment of Chemicals, one focus is placed on Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches. The overall goal of this work is to support the development and consolidation of concepts and tools for SSbD chemicals, materials and products and their operationalisation. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and application of SSbD approaches and methods. In close interaction with international projects partners from various fields, SSbD approaches will be developed and tested for materials and chemicals.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc or Scientist in energy systems modelling

We are looking for a motivated and experienced candidate to develop strategies and methods to design and assess multi-energy systems from the building to the national+ scale. A particular focus lies on the modelling and optimization of energy systems and the characterization and assessment of traditional and emerging energy conversion and storage technologies.  Challenges encompass, among others, urban multi-energy system design and flexibility integration, regional energy storage (electric, thermal and chemical), and the electrification of the heating and mobility sector along with the expansion of renewables as well as climate change mitigation. The candidate shall translate his/her research ideas to tackle these challenges, in close collaboration with our interdisciplinary team and external scientific and industry partners. We welcome applications from candidates that are motivated to contribute to the development of predictive models to simulate equilibrium and dynamic processes during competitive H2O-CO2 sorption in MOFs, zeolites, carbons, and silica (aero)gels. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: 24 month postdoc / scientist Mid-IR laser absorption spectroscopy for drone-based measurements of ship emissions

The project aims at the development and field application of a high-precision, miniaturized mid-IR spectrometer. You will leverage on our previous work for drone based methane measurement to design a multi-species, lightweight instrument that can be carried by UAVs to quantify the emissions of large ship engines off-shore and in the harbour. This involves instrumental developments in the laboratory and field campaigns, both in close collaboration with our partners Alpes Lasers, ALTUS LSA and METIS Baltic.
