Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the Multiscale Materials and Manufacturing Laboratory (M3L) at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). This is a joint position between UIC and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) seeking fresh PhDs with expertise in computational materials modeling informed machine learning approach development for high-performance computing (HPC) environment. The Shimamura Lab in the Department of Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago focuses on studying the functional and clinical impact of GPCRs and tyrosine kinases in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow who is interested in translational lung cancer research. We have shown that GPCRs are a new target in overcoming acquired drug resistance in highly heterogenous NSCLC (Soucheray et al. Can Res 2015, Becker et al, Can Res 2019, and Pulido et al, Can Res 2020). The postdoctoral fellow will study the molecular biology of GPCR and cancer heterogeneity using a variety of preclinical models including patient-derived materials, cancer cell lines, and in vivo models.
