Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate (Intestinal Biology & Mucosal Immunology)

We are searching for highly motivated postdoctoral researchers with an Ph.D. or MD/PhD in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field obtained within the last 10 years to join our team. The ideal candidates should be familiar with cell biology, molecular biology and immunology research, but those without prior experience will also be considered. The position involves conducting specialized experiments focused on intestinal inflammation and regeneration, mucosal immunity, the microbiome, and inflammatory bowel disease. The trainees will collaborate with a talented group of researchers and work on exciting and NIH-supported research projects aimed at understanding the mechanisms underlying these areas. The position offers excellent training opportunities, and the candidate will independently plan, direct, and execute advanced research experiments using cutting-edge in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro techniques, such as scRNAseq, organoid culture, multi-omics data and metabolic analysis, 16S RNA sequencing, multiple channel RNAscope in situ hybridization, and various genetically modified mouse model and gnotobiotic mouse model. The ideal candidates should be self-motivated, curious, and interested in working collaboratively with the team. (03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate- Givogri Lab

A funded opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the laboratory of Dr. Maria I Givogri at the University of Illinois at Chicago is available starting January 2024. The successful candidate will be working on molecular and translational neuroscience in genetic diseases of the brain. The main focus of this position is to study molecular pathways involved in the embryonic and early postnatal neuropathology of Krabbe disease. The successful candidate will conduct multidisciplinary in vitro and in vivo research with a variety of approaches including biochemical assays, western blotting, immunocytochemistry, RT-PCR, Elisa, confocal microscopy, and neural cell culture. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Post Doctoral Research Associate, NCRHP – Machine Learning, AI, and Rural Medicine

This Postdoctoral Research Associate conducts research in the area of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and rural medicine. This innovative role will combine the expertise from the nationally and internationally recognized Rural Medical Education Program (RMED), housed in the NRHP, at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Rockford with a mentor and support from CHEMA.

 

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also be affiliated CHEMA and expected to participate in monthly seminars with other postdoctoral research associates in the UIC College of Medicine. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have a mentoring committee that includes faculty and experts from the fields of rural health AI/ML, family and community medicine, and research design/analysis to support professional development. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will also participate in a research mentorship program including writing groups to provide support for grant submissions for all types of awards offered at the Rockford and Chicago campuses.

Two postdoctoral research associate positions are available in the Multiscale Materials and Manufacturing Laboratory (M3L) at University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). This is a joint position between UIC and Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) seeking fresh PhDs with expertise in computational materials modeling informed machine learning approach development for high-performance computing (HPC) environment. A Ph.D. in appropriate engineering or physical science discipline closely related to this area of research is required. HPC resources at the UIC and ANL will be utilized for massively parallel simulations and training of generative AI models. Physics-informed machine learning approach will be used to predict material evolution under thermomechanical, electro-thermal, and electrochemical conditions. A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Kaori Yamada in the Department of Pharmacology & Regenerative Medicine in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Yamada laboratory studies the mechanisms of the trafficking of signaling molecules, such as the receptor for the growth factor, which regulates angiogenesis and vascular leakage. The regulation of receptor trafficking is a novel concept for angiogenesis-related and vascular-leakage-related diseases such as cancer growth, cancer metastasis, and eye diseases (diabetic retinopathy and wet AMD). Using mouse models, cell biology, and molecular biology techniques, we are defining the mechanisms of pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage in these diseases.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate – Physics

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) experimental high energy nuclear physics group invites applications for an immediate postdoctoral research associate opening. The UIC group (Professors Baty, Evdokimov) is heavily involved in the CMS experiment at the LHC. The position will primarily focus on the study of high-density QCD systems, with a particular emphasis on heavy ion collisions, using CMS. The successful applicant will have experience collecting, calibrating, and analyzing data from collider experiments. Experience working with high-pt objects such as jets, photons, or muons is particularly desired. Opportunities for participation in the development of the ePIC experiment at the electron ion collider (EIC) will also exist.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago invites applications for postdoctoral fellowship positions in stem cell- based tissue engineering, microfluidic modeling of lungs, cellular mechanics, imaging of lungs, bioinformatics and systems biology, novel approaches to treating inflammatory diseases, drug discovery, nanotechnology, cell mechanics, and Covid-19 therapy on our T32 Postdoctoral Training Program.
