(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Scholar in Emergency Medicine
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Catherine Patocka, Department head of Emergency Medicine and Dr. Jessalyn Holodinsky, Data scientist in the Department of Emergency Medicine and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, researchers, and health system partners. The scholar will conduct realist fieldwork with high-priority categories of frequent ED visitors identified through advanced data analytics and statistical modelling and nominal group technique. This work will contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at optimizing care delivery and exploring alternative pathways to better meet patients¿ health needs and goals.
The scholar will primarily contribute to this high-priority project, while also having opportunities to collaborate on additional projects utilizing realist methods and to develop an independent program of research.
The position is housed within the Department of Emergency Medicine, providing access to a dynamic research environment, interdisciplinary mentorship, and strong institutional support.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate, Cell Biology & Anatomy
The Department of Cell Biology & Anatomy in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Associate. This Full-time, Fixed Term position is for approximately 18 months, with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, we are seeking a Research Associate for the animal model deep phenotyping core for One Child Every Child, a Canada First Research Excellence Program based at the University of Calgary. This position involves generating, processing, and managing high-throughput phenomic data. The research associate will perform different tasks of varying degrees of complexity, including developing and running automated image processing pipelines, processing and analyzing imaging datasets, and curating large-scale phenomic databases with extensive metadata. A core objective for the Research Associate will be developing the back-end code for an online web application that can store, acquire, analyze, and aggregate phenomic data. This will require methodological innovation and close collaboration with the supervisor, other internal collaborators, and external collaborators. In addition, the Research Associate will be responsible for completing time-sensitive imaging informatic tasks for various grants. Participation in shared lab-related work, such as lab meetings, student and visitor training, meeting arrangements, and other teamwork activities, is expected.
One Child Every Child is a Parallel Paths project that has Indigenous and non-Indigenous Paths. While this position will not involve direct interaction with human participants or human subjects data, all members of the program will perform training on work with Indigenous people, communities and data. Experience with Indigenous community-based work is an asset for all members of the OCEC research team.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Scholar in Cancer Epidemiology and Disease Burden Modeling
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join a collaborative research team investigating the effectiveness and optimization of cancer prevention, screening, and early detection. This scholarship will focus on the analysis of large population-based datasets to evaluate screening outcomes and develop precision health tools for cancer prevention.
The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Dr. Darren Brenner, Professor and Armstrong Investigator in Molecular Cancer Epidemiology at the University of Calgary as well as Dr. Dylan O¿Sullivan, and Dr. Matthew Warkentin in Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary. Additionally, the candidate work with the Cancer Screening, Detection and Risk Reduction (CanDoR) team, collaborating with epidemiologists, clinicians, biostatisticians, and data scientists to advance population-level research that enhances cancer prevention, early detection, and screening strategies. Their work will contribute to cutting-edge analytics and multidisciplinary initiatives that aim to identify novel targets for reducing cancer risk and transforming public health impact across Canada.
The scholar will contribute to several high-priority projects, including the Canadian Population Attributable Risk of Cancer (ComPARe 2.0) study to investigate cancer cases from modifiable risk factors. The role offers extensive opportunities to lead and collaborate on multiple ongoing and planned research studies, develop a unique area of research expertise, and engage in national and international dissemination of findings through publications and conferences.

(06) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate, Civil Engineering
The postdoctoral scholar(s) will plan, organize, and conduct research under the supervision of the principal investigators. The successful applicant(s) will:
- Evaluate alternative large-domain multi-model configurations of the large-domain hydrologic models on the basis of both scientific validity and operational feasibility
- Collaborate with the principal investigator on analyzing, interpreting, and and data for publication in professional journals.
- Work with the PIs and external partners to identify pathways for broader adoption of next generation prediction models
- Demonstrate a high level of research performance through effective sharing and discussions of ideas in a highly collaborative environment that includes industrial and government partners.
- Be expected to identify emerging research opportunities and assist in the completion of grant applications, reporting, and project administration, as required.
The position of is a full-time appointment, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Flexible work hours and remote working arrangements are possible to accommodate critical deadlines.

(07) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Scholar, Photonic Quantum Information Processing
Under her Canada Excellence Research Chair in photonic quantum science and technologies, Dr. Urbasi Sinha is setting up a state-of-the-art quantum optics lab that will work on different aspects of quantum technologies using photons. It will emphasize strong synergy between application-driven research, which addresses immediate needs, and foundational research, which enables the technologies of the future.
As a part of this initiative, the successful candidate will develop and conduct linear optics-based quantum information and quantum computing experiments using photons. They will receive a $5,000 CAD research and travel allowance to support such requirements, subject to approval by the Principal Investigator.
