Dr. Qin Huang’s Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking an experienced researcher to perform research on advanced power electronics, as well as to perform supporting work in maintaining the laboratory equipment and supplies.

The Kang Research Group in the Division of Health Outcomes at The University of Texas College of Pharmacy invites applicants for a postdoctoral fellowship aimed at preparing independent academic researchers in health outcomes research and health disparities.

The selected fellow will work primarily with Dr. Hyeun Ah Kang, whose research focuses on assessing health policy impacts on vulnerable populations, evaluating treatment and guideline adherence, analyzing health care resource utilization and costs, identifying predictors of clinical and economic outcomes, and examining health disparities using large, real-world databases (e.g., Texas Medicaid, Merative™ MarketScan®, and the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey [MEPS], with a particular focus on sickle cell disease, opioid utilization, and cancer disparities). The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research on developing physics-informed models of the gas-electric interconnection network with applications in voluntary carbon markets, risk assessments, and energy transition planning under the supervision of Dr. Arvind Ravikumar. The recent National Petroleum Council report on Gas-Electric Coordination highlighted the critical importance of understanding the interconnecting dependencies between the natural gas system and the electric grid. Yet, a physical model that tracks the flow of natural gas from production regions to power plants do not exist. Such a physical model, if developed, could unlock a range of new applications in energy system research including traceability of carbon intensity of delivered gas, quantitative risk assessments associated with gas grid disruptions, and long-term planning to repurpose natural gas pipelines to carry carbon dioxide or hydrogen. The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for developing the model and illustrating its use across several application areas. This position will initially focus on developing a gas-electric integration model for the Southeast US, followed by an expansion to other regions.

The Banner Research Group (BRG) is seeking a motivated individual to support research on paleoenvironmental reconstruction using tree-ring records. The primary task will be reconstructing streamflow in the Edwards Aquifer region using bald cypress tree chronologies. The results will contribute to evaluating natural variability in the aquifer in collaboration with researchers at the Edwards Aquifer Authority.

The Meyers Lab and epiENGAGE at The University of Texas at Austin are immediately seeking outstanding postdoctoral scholars to contribute to modeling the spread, surveillance, forecasting, and control of influenza and other infectious diseases. The research aims to elucidate epidemiological dynamics and provide robust insights and tools to support outbreak preparedness and response efforts across the United States.

The postdoctoral scholars will work under the primary supervision and mentorship of Professor Lauren Ancel Meyers. 

We seek candidates with strong quantitative training in one or more of the following areas: (1) modeling of infectious disease dynamics, (2) statistics, machine learning, and AI, or (3) operations research and optimization. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology

The Postdoctoral Fellow will work collaboratively with investigators in the Heart Center to generate analyzable clinical data to better understand and improve the patient and family outcomes of those diagnosed with Congenital Heart Disease.

The principal responsibilities of a postdoctoral fellow in the Torii Lab are to conduct independent research projects aligned with the lab’s scientific mission and to disseminate research findings through publications and presentations at scientific meetings. The position is expected to pursue cutting‑edge research using state‑of‑the‑art technologies and to advance our understanding of plant development and signaling mechanisms that enable adaptation to extreme environments, including underwater conditions. The fellow will be responsible for developing a hypothesis‑driven research plan that outlines materials and methods, experimental design, and anticipated outcomes prior to initiating experiments. In addition, the fellow will establish and optimize pipelines for efficient genome editing in the emergent model species Rorippa aquatica. The position will also contribute to the preparation of upcoming research grant proposals. The Cambronne lab has a funded position for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with experimental expertise in large-scale fluorescence data collection and analyses.  Ideal candidates will have additional experience in flow cytometry, imaging, cell culture, next-generation sequencing, and metabolic analyses. The project involves working with a unique collection of metabolic biosensors.
