(02) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at the Indiana University School of Medicine. In collaboration with Calico Life Sciences – a research and development company, Drs. Jun Wan and Ken White are looking for a recent Ph.D. with expertise in bioinformatics, computational biology and/or biostatistics, particularly in single cell level analyses. This candidate will conduct multiple genome-wide sequencing data analysis under the supervision of Drs. Wan and White. The applicant should have ability to work independently for multiple tasks as well as in collaboration with wet labs. Duties and specific responsibilities are to perform sequencing data analyses and integrative analysis on multi-omics datasets, visualize the results, help data releases, and assist with the investigator for preparation of presentations and manuscripts in bioinformatics analysis. This post-doctoral fellow will have a unique multi-disciplinary collaboration opportunity to work with interdisciplinary teams of scientists including clinical, basic and computational sciences.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Two postdoctoral or research faculty positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiongbin Lu at Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Indiana University School of Medicine. The candidates will participate in NCI-funded translational research programs to identify drug targets for cancer immunotherapy and precision therapy using bioinformatic and experimental approaches. Postdoctoral position summary/title: A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Our laboratory is currently exploiting the CRISPR/Cas9 system to study normal and malignant hematopoiesis. We have established an efficient system to modify genes in both human and mouse hematopoietic stem cells. Using this system, our team will focus on (1) developing gene therapy for monogenic blood disorders (Fanconi anemia, immune-deficient disorders, and hemoglobinopathies); (2) modeling activating mutations that are recurrently found in patients with hematopoietic malignancies; (3) unrevealing novel functions of Zinc finger transcription factors in hematopoiesis in vivo. We also have a close collaboration with Dr. Brian Walker on campus to discover a novel therapeutic treatment for multiple myeloma.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: A postdoctoral fellowship position is available at the laboratory of Dr. Ren at the Center for Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases (CDMD), Herman B Wells Center for Pediatric Research at the Indiana University School of Medicine. This is a NIH-funded position to study the molecular mechanism and physiological function of G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling in the context of diabetes and obesity research. Research in the Ren lab aims to: address how the GPCR signaling in the neuroendocrine and enteroendocrine system regulates metabolism to maintain glucose and energy homeostasis; functionally characterize the organization of the neural circuitry involving GPCR signaling in the hypothalamus; The lab employs multidisciplinary in vitro and in vivo approaches, including hormone sensitivity and metabolite measurement, physiological assays to gauge glucose metabolism, molecular pharmacology, immunohistochemistry staining, electrophysiology, and molecular and cell biology methods.
