The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI Singapore) Postdoctoral Fellowship seeks outstanding early-stage postdoctoral fellows who are interested to develop their career as independent, tenure-track faculty. The awardees will be hosted within established research labs at CSI Singapore to develop their independent research programs. They will receive a competitive base salary of up to SGD$93,000 per year (not including benefits such as CPF, bonus, medical, insurance) with an annual research grant of up to SGD$25,000 per year and equipment grant of SGD$5,000. Access to state-of-the-art core facilities will be provided. The fellowship funding period is up to three years.

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one Research Fellow (Postdoc) position in Water Resources Modeling to begin in summer 2025.The project “On the origin of droughts in Mainland Southeast Asia—implications for water and energy security” aims to disentangle the origin of recent droughts in Southeast Asia and, therefore, determine how management and climatic influences are affecting the spatial distribution of water availability in the present and in the future.In particular, the project aims to:
(1) quantify the spatio-temporal variability of water fluxes in the hydrosphere and biosphere,
(2) quantify how water management interventions redistribute water availability,
(3) examine how future changes in hydro-climatological conditions and anthropogenic interventions will affect droughts in the next decades, and

The Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), National University of Singapore is looking for researchers and engineers to develop next generation quantum computers based on trapped ions. There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor based on Yb-Ba ions. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertising on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

The Mechanobiology Institute (MBI), National University of Singapore is a leading multi-disciplinary institute devoted to developing new paradigms for understanding biological functions in health and diseases from the perspective of cell, tissue and organ mechanics/dynamics and mechano-signal transduction. The institute operates on a fully integrated open-lab philosophy, with an extensive infrastructure supported by core facilities dedicated to technology such as state-of-the-art light microscopy, nano- and micro- fabrication, and computing.

The MBI is inviting applications for a Research Fellow to join the group of Dr Alphée Michelot. The selected candidate will work on a project that aims to investigate the relationship between cellular energy availability and actin cytoskeleton dynamics. The selected candidate will use in vitro methods with recombinant proteins to understand how actin assembly dynamics respond to changes in ATP and ADP concentrations in the presence or absence of regulatory factors.

The successful candidate will work on a research project dedicated to understanding how animal cells collectively build 3D tissue architectures, either in vivo or ex vivo. The project involves using advanced light microscopy methods, quantitative bioimage analysis, and biophysical methods to probe the mechanisms that organize collective cell dynamics at the tissue scale. The successful candidate will work closely with our physics collaborators, who develop theoretical approaches to predict and test our hypotheses.

The team seeks either someone with considerable biological expertise and practical experience working with cells and tissues using quantitative methods who seeks more exposure to biophysical/mechanobiology approaches, or someone with a more computational/physics background who is eager to apply their skills to analyzing biological data and working directly with experimental biologists.

The position offers the opportunity to shape a new project in a new team as the group just moved to the MBI in 2024. At the same time, the team is imbedded within the well-established MBI at NUS, which offers an open, interactive, and interdisciplinary research environment.
