The Medina Lab in the Department of Psychology at Emory University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher. Our lab examines how we combine information from the senses to perceive our bodies, and how perceptual processes and their underlying neural representations are altered subsequent to brain damage. Our research uses a variety of techniques including cognitive neuropsychological studies, functional neuroimaging, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and psychophysical/behavioral methods. Our lab has access to multiple 3T and one 7T scanner, transcranial magnetic stimulation, and brain-damaged individuals active in research.

The Emory Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Laboratory attempts to harness the power of the immune system to fight brain tumors. Their work spans from the bedside to the bench and back. They focus on discovering new information about the immune biology of brain tumors, validate this information in the lab, and then use this knowledge to treat patients in clinical trials.

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD in neuroscience, immunology, genetics, or related areas. Background in molecular biology with hands-on experience with CRISPR is preferred. Extra consideration will be given to applicants with experience in small animal survival surgery including intracerebral injections and flow cytometry. Dr. Kimberly Jacob Arriola is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work on a recently funded NIH study that seeks to eliminate racial disparities in chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression, treatment, and care among patients within Emory Healthcare. This project is part of a national consortium that is intervening on the role of structural racism in driving racial disparities in CKD. We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow that would take the lead on all aspects of cleaning, managing, and analyzing quantitative data. This includes the administrative data extracted from electronic medical records as well as survey data collected from patients and providers.
