Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
Explore molecular mechanisms underlying unique adaptations and behaviors. Fellows have freedom to ask broad questions across a range of organisms housed within our lab: octopuses, sharks, jellyfish, photosynthetic animals, walking fish, piranhas, and more. The fellow will benefit from diverse scientific approaches in our lab and broader community across Harvard and collaborative interactions elsewhere. Candidates should have a strong background in cell biology, physiology, biochemistry, structure, and/or other molecular approaches with demonstrated ability to independently lead a project, as well as collaboratively contribute to a team. Most of all, we value curiosity, creativity, and a passion for science! All postdoctoral fellows in the lab have received external fellowship support, and thus we expect and will support fellowship applications upon starting.
We are seeking a Scientific Writer/Project Manager (Research Associate) to provide communication support for the laboratory of Dr. Jonathan Abraham at Harvard Medical School. The Abraham lab uses methods in molecular virology and structural biology to study how viruses interact with cellular receptors and how neutralizing antibodies can block these interactions. We focus on viruses that cause lethal human diseases with limited treatment or vaccine options.
This role will include assisting the principal investigator and lab members in writing scientific research manuscripts, review articles, research proposals, and progress reports. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate exceptional writing skills and apply rigorous scientific thinking to these tasks. In addition, the candidate will help prepare illustrations for publications and grants and maintain lab website and social media platforms.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will perform cell culture, flow cytometry, single cell omics, systems biology analysis and qPCR using excellent techniques.
The postdoctoral research fellow must have experience in cell culture, data analysis (R programming and analysis), and flow cytometry. Toxicology and immunology expertise would be preferred.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computer Science
Our research aims to develop new foundations and technologies for reasoning and planning that leverage large language models (LLMs) and integrate them with complementary approaches, including program synthesis, and causal and probabilistic programming. The goal is to create integrated systems that harness the deep domain knowledge and emergent capabilities of LLMs, alongside the precision, efficiency and correctness of formal reasoning frameworks. This could deliver the best of both worlds: the intuitive, context-rich insights of LLMs and the logical, structured analysis provided by formal methods. Key application areas include developing integrated agents that:
Automate data science: augmenting and automating functionalities in the data science pipeline, such as data curation, cleaning, format translation, causal and statistical analysis, and model verification.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
This postdoctoral fellowship in the Arlotta lab involves computational analysis of functional genomics datasets with an emphasis on single-cell omics. This person will develop new computational methods to analyze novel RNAseq, ATACseq, and Spatial Transcriptomics datasets as well as optimally leveraging integration with existing genomics datasets.
The role will often involve rapid prototyping in support of a dynamic, fast-moving experimental program; it is focused on molecular biology applications relevant to investigation of brain function and psychiatric illness. This researcher will work in close collaboration with laboratory scientists on a range of projects with a specific emphasis on the interpretation of single cell results within a biological context. The position also entails close collaborations with multiple groups, many at the Stanley Center in the Broad Institute.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow – CAUSALab
The postdoctoral research fellow will work on causal inference projects under the supervision of the CAUSALab’s faculty members. The projects range from the development of causal inference and AI methods to the implementation of established causal inference approaches to support public health and clinical decision making.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Causal Inference for Cancer Control
The successful candidate will apply modern causal inference methods to large health databases (e.g., electronic health records) to inform decision-making about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. Multiple projects are available, including the (1) evaluation of drugs with identified repurposing potential for cancer prevention, (2) evaluation of dynamic (adaptive) screening strategies for cancer, and (3) investigation of the optimal timing and sequencing of cancer treatments.
Rich opportunities for professional development are also available, including support for attending conferences, delivering talks, teaching, and mentoring, among other activities.
The postdoctoral fellow will be supervised by Dr. Barbra Dickerman and work closely with other team members, including faculty and researchers in the CAUSALab and Zhu Family Center for Global Cancer Prevention, as well as external collaborators. Our team conducts cutting-edge research using large health databases to improve health decision-making. Results from our research have informed recommendations for the treatment and prevention of multiple diseases and contributed to the innovation of methods to generate valid evidence from real world data.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard in RL with Applications in Digital Interventions!
Join us as a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Susan Murphy’s Statistical Reinforcement Learning Group. Our research concerns sequential decision-making in digital health, including experimental design and reinforcement learning algorithms. We combine statistical methods with online reinforcement learning algorithms to provide inferential tools. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an innovative research program in sequential decision-making. Our lab is involved in a number of digital health studies in obesity, cardiac health, physical activity, mental illness, and substance abuse across the world.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Associate/Data Analyst
The Choi Lab in the Department of Oral Health Policy and Epidemiology (OHPE) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) seeks a research associate/data analyst to join our research team and provide quantitative and analytical support for research projects evaluating the impact of health policy interventions focused on oral health and health disparities. Our faculty and student led research is focused on building the evidence base to promote the essentialism of oral health and to promote systems changes that enhance equitable health outcomes.
In this role, the individual will work with a multi-disciplinary team, including clinicians, statisticians, decision scientists, and health services researchers. The selected candidate will be expected to provide scientific expertise and engage directly in research and methods development to solve important scientific problems.
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: 2025-26 Mahindra Humanities Center Postdoctoral Fellow
The Mahindra Humanities Center invites applications for five one-year postdoctoral fellowships on the topic of the environmental humanities, drawn from any humanistic discipline. We interpret the environmental humanities in the broadest terms, to include all parts of the world and historical eras. Topics may include (but are not limited to) humanistic approaches to climate change, biodiversity, social justice, environmental justice, food justice, regenerative practices, gardening, landscape, urban foraging, health, and animal studies.
We welcome applications from scholars in all fields whose work innovatively engages with the environment and the humanities. In addition to pursuing their own research projects, fellows will be core participants in the bi-weekly seminar meetings for both academic semesters of the fellowship. The Harvard University Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology (CCB) seeks postdoctoral fellows for the academic year 2025-2026 in the open field of chemistry and chemical biology. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellow
We seek a recently completed Ph.D. in the fields of developmental and/or regenerative neurobiology, neuronal cell biology, and/or nervous system disease involving the cerebral cortex to join an ongoing research program focusing on the developmental, degenerative, and regenerative biology of the cerebral cortex, employing both mice as a genetic model and limited work with human iPSC-derived cortical like neurons. We are particularly interested for this position in projects involving subcellular soma, growth cone, and synapse biology potentially underlying ALS, and in subcellular growth cone biology in activated regeneration after spinal cord injury in mice.. This position offers full funding for a two-year period for work within the scope of recent publications from the laboratory as defined by our series of recent publications and bioRxiv preprints. Salary is in the range of $67,600 per year, depending on whether a recently defended graduate or already with 1 year of postdoc experience in the Ph.D. lab. The position offers full Harvard benefits.
