Position 1
The first position investigates different aspects of face recognition in distant and elevated images. Current research show that face recognition with tiny and/or blurred faces is quite difficult for modern deep-learning-based face recognition methods.

Position 2
The second position includes research on the fusion of different biometric modalities such as face, facial attributes, body shape and gait. While the latter two will be provided by other team members, this position requires to investigate the possibility of extracting and using facial attributes in distant images.
