Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Post-doctoral scientist – Statistical Genetics

A postdoc position at Aarhus University is vacant from October 1, 2021, or soon thereafter. We are seeking a highly motivated person to develop and apply statistical and machine learning methods for genetic analyses and genetic risk prediction. The position will be based at the National Centre for Register-based Research, Aarhus University, a leading international research group focused on statistical genetics and psychiatric epidemiology.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: single-cell RNA-sequencing

The work will be focused on single-cell analysis of rhizobium infection of plant root hairs. So far, legume-rhizobium interactions have been investigated at the level of plant organs or tissue types, and it remains unclear what cellular events are characteristic of the few root hair cells that allow intracellular rhizobium infection to proceed.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: epidemiology of intergenerational health effects

A one-year position is available to investigate the effects of exposures such as smoking and alcohol consumption before conception, and subsequent associations with health and disease in adult children and grandchildren. Studies in animals provide evidence that harmful exposures at specific times before gestation may imprint epigenetic modifications that influence offspring health, potentially across two generations, but very few human studies have investigated this.
