A postdoc position is available for research studying the signaling network in Neurofibromatosis type 1 related malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) models. The Angus lab is interested in mapping the transcriptional, epigenetic, and kinase signaling changes associated with the genetic events that mark progression of benign plexiform neurofibromas to MPNST. A postdoctoral position is available to study the degeneration of spinal motor neurons during the pathogenesis of ALS. The laboratory employs state-of-the-art cellular, molecular, biochemical, mouse transgenic and imaging approaches for the interrogation of circuit development, regeneration and physiology. We recently performed unbiased ribosomal profiling to identify genes regulated by both regeneration and ALS degeneration in spinal motor neurons. Dr. Reza Shahbazi is a new faculty member from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center who was recruited to the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) in March 2021. As part of the role out of his new laboratory, he will need to hire a post-doctoral fellow who will play a pivotal role in setting up his laboratory and assisting in the execution of research projects. The main theme of Dr. Shahbazi’s laboratory is to develop highly specific CRISPR based nanotherapeutics (Shahbazi et al., Nature Materials, 2019) targeting hematopoietic stem cells, and T cells. Alongside these projects, the individual will be involved in exosome profiling projects in different cancer types such as leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. This project would provide essential information regarding the biomarker identification, and targeting cancer cells by highly specific nanotherapeutics.
