Molecular biology lab studying the regulation of gene expression by transcriptional cyclin-dependent kinases (mainly CDK11 and CDK12) and their roles in cancer onset (Dalibor Blazek lab, CEITEC, Brno, Czech Republic) is seeking a person with strong expertise in bioinformatics to analyze transcriptomics data and answer important biological questions. The candidate will be in close contact with Bioinformatics research group of Panagiotis Alexiou at CEITEC.

The postdoctoral scientist will participate on research projects dealing with the preparation of non-trivial organic molecules used to explore important areas in biology and human medicine. Postdoctoral position summary/title: POSTDOC POSITION in SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19 Research.
Masaryk University in Brno, the Czech Republic, is offering a two-year postdoctoral fellowship to a recent PhD graduate who has experience and/or is willing to engage in research on molecular diagnostics, DNA sequencing of coronavirus and post mortem investigations of patients with COVID-19. The successful candidate will undertake research in the laboratories of Professor Omar Sery in the Faculty of Science and candidate will collaborate with other research laboratories in the Faculty, in the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences and with the Department of Forensic Medicine. Current projects focus on the DNA diagnostics of SARS-CoV-2, screening of anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies levels, role of coronavirus in pathophysiology of COVID-19, NGS sequencing of new mutations of SARS-CoV-2 etc. Laboratories are also focused on etiopathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease, alcoholism or schizophrenia. Facilities in Prof. Sery’s laboratories include a recently installed state-of-the-art next generation sequencing (NGS) equipment, advanced fluorescence (deconvolution) microscopy, electron microscopy and others.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: PostDoc (1.0 FTE) position is available in the research group of Dr. Richard Stefl (http://stefl-lab.ceitec.cz; CEITEC, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic) to participate in research focused on the crosstalk between transcription and DNA repair. Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoc in Structural Virology group.
We seek a post-doctoral scientist to join the Pavel Plevka lab of structural virology at CEITEC. We use cryo-electron microscopy and tomography to determine three-dimensional structures of viruses and study their replication in infected cells. We aim to provide structural information for development of anti-viral drugs and phage therapy. We study human viruses from the families Picornaviridae and Flaviviridae. Our phage studies are focused on biofilms of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
