The successful candidate will be primarily based at the Institute of Neuroinformatics at the University of Zurich / ETH Zurich but will also spend ample time in Geneva and potentially other labs of the NCCR. The position is embedded in an NCCR-wide task force in data science that collaborates with data science platforms at ETH Zurich, the University or Zurich, and EPF Lausanne as well as with partners in industry (e.g. the Google Research Natural Language Processing Group in Zurich).

(02) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral researcher in Cryoelectron Microscopy.
The research group headed by Prof. Martin Jinek at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, is looking for a talented, goal-driven and team-oriented postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in single-particle cryoelectron microscopy. Research in the Jinek laboratory is focused on studying the molecular structures and mechanisms of CRISPR-Cas and related bacterial defense systems, as well as eukaryotic mRNA processing machineries. These biological questions are investigated using an integrative approach combining structural biology (Cryo-EM and X-ray crystallography), biochemical and biophysical experiments, and functional studies in cell-based models. The Jinek lab is one of the core users and has regular access to a brand-new FEI Titan Krios (equipped with a K3 camera) in the UZH Department of Biochemistry and Center for Microscopy and Image Analysis.

Postdoctoral position summary/title: The History of Medicine Group within the Institute of Biomedical Ethics and History of Medicine and the Center for Medical Humanities at the University of Zurich, led by Professor Flurin Condrau, seeks to appoint a postdoctoral fellow (60-80 % FTE, competitive salary based on experience) for a period of three years, to start as soon as possible.
The appointee will work closely with members of the group and contribute to the intellectual life of the unit. You will have ample time to pursue their research and will be expected to apply for fellowships and grants during their tenure. Postdoctoral fellows’ responsibilities also include contributing to the delivery of teaching at all levels (usually no more than one course unit per semester in collaboration with other group members).

(04) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral position in sequencing-based transplant immunology.
The Postdoc position is coupled to the Eurostar funded project ENVISAGE, which aims to develop and test a Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) based method for chimerism analysis on cell free circulating DNA (cfDNA) in the setting of human solid organ transplantation. The project is a joint venture between Devyser (diagnostic biotech company) and the University of Zurich focusing on the monitoring and early diagnosis of graft rejection. The Postdoc position will also encompass collaborations within the larger research group at the department of immunology with a focus on sequencing based immunological analyses.

(05) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoc position – ion signaling in innate immunity.
A postdoc position is available in our laboratory in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology at the University of Zurich (Switzerland) to work on ion signaling during innate immunity.
Our group has recently identified several calcium-permeable channels involved in plant innate immunity [Nature (2020) 569-573; Nature Plants (2021) in press]. The project will involve the detailed characterization of these channels, as well as other channels/transporters regulating ion signaling during plant immunity.
