(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoctoraal onderzoeker over Brede Welvaart

Genereer nieuwe inzichten en kennis op het gebied van Brede Welvaart op lokaal niveau, waarbij je maatschappelijke problemen en de implicaties op welzijn, beleidsinterventies en lokaal bestuur onderzoekt. “Brede Welvaart” betekent dat we het welzijn en de welvaart in onze huidige samenleving veel meer vanuit mensen en waarden gaan bekijken, en niet meer alleen vanuit tot nu toe de meer dominante gebruikelijke macro-economische indicatoren. Daarmee biedt het begrip van Brede Welvaart een interessant en nieuw perspectief op allerlei maatschappelijke problemen, zoals kansenongelijkheid, inclusiviteit, verduurzaming en leefbaarheid. Dit onderzoeksproject onderzoekt de vertaling van Brede Welvaart naar buurtniveau en de implicaties ervan voor het meten van welzijn, beleidsinterventies en lokaal bestuur. In Nederland heeft het concept Brede Welvaart aan populariteit gewonnen bij zowel beleidsmakers als academici. Het groeiende onbehagen over de relevantie van het bruto binnenlands product (bbp) en andere macro-economische indicatoren voor het in kaart brengen van materiële en immateriële welzijn van burgers, heeft een zoektocht ingezet naar nieuwe definities van welvaart, nieuwe indicatoren, beleidsmaatregelen en interventies (governance) die een meer mensgericht en op waarden gebaseerd perspectief op welzijn en welvaart hanteren.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc – Project CUES (1.0 FTE)

We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc who wishes to conduct research in the context of a new Horizon Europe project called CUES. The CUES project (Consumers’ Understanding of Eating Sustainably) is awarded with 6.5 million euros from the Horizon Europe programme by the European Commission. It sets out to foster significant changes concerning culture, food value chain, and policy in the food system in a time period of four years. The project will achieve these changes through co-designing scientific methods and approaches to transmit and present sustainability-related information to consumers to guide their knowledge on, for example sustainable labelling and the societal impact of different kinds of food production, transportation, and consumption. But also, to guide their behavior and to determine the persuasive keys to promote sustainable consumer behavior most efficiently. The CUES consortium combines 21 partners from different EU member countries with strong expertise in organizational and persuasive communication, consumer behaviours, food sustainability, and stakeholder management. Erasmus University Rotterdam serves as the coordinator of this project.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Resilient Delta – (main)Port Transitions (0,8 – 1,0 fte)

As a researcher, you will be connected to the Resilient Delta initiative, one of the 5 programs in the Convergence alliance. Resilient Delta has a dedicated team of academics and practitioners that organize research, education and collaboration to design resilience solutions in the real-world dynamics of our living lab; the Rotterdam delta. Through interdisciplinary research and co-creation, Resilient Delta builds on policies, technologies, business models and methodologies that address the concrete societal issues that are prevalent in urban deltas, and in particular climate change and inequality. Resilient Delta believes that a better understanding of the complex coherence and mechanisms of systems contributes to achieving the breakthroughs that are needed to really combat societal challenges.
