(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Research Fellow

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Medical Statistics, Data Science or Health Economics to join the Department of Health Services Research and Policy.

The postholder will have excellent opportunities for collaboration and support from established collaborations within LSHTM including with leading statisticians and data scientists through the new school Centre in Data and Statistical Science for Health (DASH), and health economists within the Global Health Economics Centre: Global Health Economics Centre | LSHTM.

The postholder will support three important studies. The first study is an MRC funded study examining advanced methods for establishing causal effects from routine data GtR (ukri.org). The second study is funded by NIHR and evaluates ‘urgent’ versus ‘planned’ surgery for patients with common vascular conditions (ESORT-V), using large-scale routine data ESORT | LSHTM.The third study is an NIHR-funded platform trial that evaluates alternative thresholds for platelet infusion for critically-ill patients (T4P) ICNARC – About.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Research Fellow

We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow in Health Economics to join the Department of Health Services Research and Policy. The Research Fellow will join teams evaluating the comparative effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of alternative interventions for: acutely-ill children in paediatric intensive care unit (GASTRIC-PICU), acute kidney injury (MOSAICC), and for people hospitalised following a myocardial infarction (MI). 

The postholder will work collaboratively with leading health economists, clinicians, epidemiologists, trialists and statisticians and will report to Dr Zia Sadique. The postholder will have opportunities to forge strong links with colleagues working on overlapping areas of interest through LSHTM centres, for example the Global Health Economics Centre (GHECO), which brings together over 100 academics working on a diverse portfolio of health economics research.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Housing and Health

The Department of Public Health, Environments and Society is seeking to appoint a Research Fellow to join the Environment and Health Research Group at LSHTM to work on a large research project on housing and health funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

The project aims to understand the health impacts of housing created through the new Permitted Development Rights in England. It involves a consortium of teams led by University College London (UCL) in partnership with LSHTM and the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA).

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow (0.4 FTE)

This is an exciting opportunity for a postgraduate researcher to join the LSHTM team of the HIGH Horizons Consortium to work on a large multi-country collaborative project assessing the health effects of climate change on maternal and neonatal health in sub-Saharan Africa (HIGH Horizons).

The candidate should have a background in medical/environmental statistics/quantitative epidemiology. Ideally, the candidate would have experience in the analysis of environmental data, especially those related to climate change, pollution or temperature and health outcomes. The post-holder will be line managed by Prof Veronique Filippi, being part of a team working on climate and MNCH (Prof Debra Jackson).

The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic alongside relevant experience in analysing quantitative data on the relationships between health and environmental determinants. Relevant computer/ analytical skills and experience in using STATA and R statistical softwares is essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.
