(05) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: PostDoc RATION project

The aim of this project is to develop new, innovative single species testing procedures (based on existing models and newly developed if deemed necessary) for assessing the environmental toxicity of LRP. These testing methods will include experimental single species tests using model invertebrate species (.e.g. C. elegans and Drosophila). Effect markers at different sub-organismal levels of biological complexity will be applied, including molecular and biochemical endpoints, depending on the type of LRP. It is evident that endpoints for assessment of chemical risks may not be applicable, and therefore it is essential to develop bespoke endpoints for the different types of LRP, addressing causality of effects, but also with regulatory relevance. The project will provide proofs-of-concept of testing methods for the different LRP, which will be used for further development of their RA-schemes. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with a PhD-project at the department of Aquatic Ecology and Water Quality of Wageningen University, and with other partners within the RATION project.
