Postdoctoral position summary/title: Signalling & Cancer Metabolism team
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Training Fellow to study the crosstalk between oncogenic PI3K/AKT signalling and metabolism. This project will concentrate on mechanistically interrogating metabolic perturbations that are conferred by oncogenic mutations in PIK3CA to unveil novel metabolic and non-metabolic targets for therapy. Therefore, it would suit candidates with a background on cell signalling and/or cancer metabolism, whilst having experience working with cancer mouse models would be highly desirable. The successful candidate will use a range of molecular and cell biology techniques including: gene editing, 2D/3D cell culture, WB, IP, IF, mass-spec metabolomics etc. across a wide range of in vitro and in vivo models to discover and characterize genotype-metabotype interactions. It is anticipated that this study will help us gain a mechanistic understanding of the complex metabolic circuitry of the PI3K/AKT pathway, and ultimately assist with the identification of rational therapeutic strategies based on metabolic vulnerabilities.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 28 March 2021

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Training Fellow in Cancer MRI
The post holder will develop data acquisition strategies for oxygen-enhanced MRI. The subsequent aim is to then these methods to a clinical study evaluating how tumour hypoxia affects the effectiveness of novel targeted therapies.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 5 April 2021

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Postdoctoral Training Fellow in Image Analysis
The post holder will develop new methods to explore how CT and MRI quantify indicators of patient wellbeing (e.g. sarcopenia) alongside measures of response to therapy. The subsequent aim is to build models that combine this information to understand differential survival in patients with advanced cancer.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 5 April 2021
(04) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: We are committed to training the next generation of radiation researchers through a connected programme of complementary preclinical and clinical research themes. In order to achieve this, we are now seeking to recruit 3 postdoctoral training fellows to work on biology research projects that span the main research themes within our CRUK Radiation Research Centre of Excellence. All posts are designed to drive collaborative research initiatives across more than one research group with the following key areas of interest
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 11 April 2021

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Functional Genomics team
We are seeking a post-doctoral training fellow analytical scientist with experience in single cell bioinformatics to join the Breast Cancer Research Functional Genomics and Bioinformatics Groups at the Breast Cancer Now Centre (ICR, South Kensington, Chelsea, London). Our goal is to use single cell sequencing approaches to investigate the sub-clonal make up of treatment resistant breast cancers in order to identify new molecular markers and targetable pathways of breast cancer. Results will be validated by wet lab members within the team.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 11 April 2021

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Genome Stability and Innate Immunity Team
We seek two postdoctoral research scientists to develop exciting research programmes to analyse innate immune signalling during genotoxic stress. The first of these projects will use quantitative imaging approaches to establish a detailed understanding of how innate immune signalling is established, and how it mediates its effects. The second project will reveal innate immune effectors of the response to genotoxic stress through genomic analysis and genetic screens, followed by genetic and biochemical analysis. In both projects, the successful candidate will have intellectual freedom in developing this project together with the Team Leader, whilst working as part of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 18 April 2021

Postdoctoral position summary/title: Structural biology of alternative splicing.
The goal of the project is to advance understanding the structural basis of how regulatory splicing factors act within spliceosomes to cause alternative splicing. The successful candidate will reconstitute spliceosomes relevant for alternative splicing and determine their structure by cryo-EM. We will provide the support and guidance in the specific methods for assembly, purification and biochemical analyses of spliceosomes.
Deadline of Postdoc Position: 23 April 2021
(08) Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral position summary/title: Structural Biology of protein-RNA complexes relevant for cancer.
The goal of the project is to understand how cancer-related mutations induce reprogramming of alternative splicing. The successful candidate will reconstitute relevant macromolecular complexes and determine their structure by cryo-EM. The structures will be complemented with various functional assays. We will provide the support and guidance in the specific methods for assembly, purification and biochemical analyses of spliceosomes.

About The Institute of Cancer Research
The Institute of Cancer Research, London, is one of the world’s most influential cancer research institutes, with an outstanding record of achievement dating back more than 100 years. We provided the first convincing evidence that DNA damage is the basic cause of cancer, laying the foundation for the now universally accepted idea that cancer is a genetic disease. Today, The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) leads the world at isolating cancer-related genes and discovering new targeted drugs for personalised cancer treatment.
