(01) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:  Postdoc for EEOB

Computational and genomic analyses of evolutionary processes in Gossypium. Major goals are to (1) elucidate the population genomics and genetics of polyploid cotton accompanying domestication, crop improvement, and interspecific gene flow; (2) understand the phenomenon of duplicate gene regulation and expression at the whole plant and single-cell level in a phylogenetic context; (3) refine our knowledge of interspecific introgression and phylogenetic relationships within the genus; and (4) participate in our teacher-training program and other outreach efforts. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills and will work closely with Iowa educators.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc Research Associate

 The Post-Doctoral Fellow would work to support CDC-funded, translational research projects of the ISU Translational Research Network (U-TuRN) linked to the Iowa Community Hub (HUB), a non-profit agency that fosters clinical partnerships and the coordinated delivery of Evidence-Based Interventions (EBI’s) in community-based settings. Emphasis will be placed on the dissemination of the Walk with Ease, Chronic Disease SelfManagement Program (CDSMP) and the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), but the dynamic nature of the HUB partnerships will enable and support other synergistic projects.

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Research Associate

The position collaborates with the PI and other group members to support research activities related to the DOT BOTTLE project. The position will be expected to design and conduct experiments, to interpret and report on experimental results, develop and deliver public presentations at internal and external venues, and guide and train others in the conduct of experiments and data interpretation. The position will also be expected to lead and support the development of research proposals, manuscripts for publication, and intellectual property disclosures. The duties of this position also include the maintenance and supervision of the daily operation of state-of-the-art experimental facilities.

 The Veterinary Medical Center is accepting applications for a Postdoc Research Associate – Food Animal Emergency position at Iowa State University.  This is an advanced training position focusing on food animal emergency cases primarily in the Food Animal and Camilid Hospital (FACH). Responsibilities of this position include medical and surgical care for food animal species in the FACH during after-hours and weekends, coordinating hospitalized patient treatment management plans during after-hours and weekends, providing laboratory and didactic instruction to veterinary students, and shared after-hours on-call.  The responsibilities of this position will be supported by board-certified specialists to provide a training experience that helps prepare the incumbent for a future position in academia or industry.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Research Associate – Weed Science

The Department of Agronomy is seeking a postdoctoral research associate with the following job duties: (1) Research and scholarship (75%) investigate weed control cropping systems, such topics include but are not limited to, the control of herbicide-tolerant weeds, weed-crop interactions, and weed control in cover crop systems (2) teaching (25%) teach two weed science courses (5 credits over the academic year). (08) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoctoral Fellowship- Student Counseling Services

The Student Counseling Service at Iowa State University is pleased to offer a Post-Doctoral Fellowship (post-doc) position for the 2023-2024 academic year. SCS is within the Division of Student Affairs. This is a 12-month, 2000-hour, full-time position with a preferred start date of August 1, 2023.  Preferred qualifications: Candidates should be knowledgeable about college student development, interested in working with a diverse university population and have experience with crisis assessment and intervention. Strong candidates will also have experience with intakes/triage, providing clinical supervision, and facilitating group therapy or workshops.  This position affords the post-doc the opportunity to work in a dynamic university counseling center that serves a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, the post-doc will provide individual, and group therapy from a short-term therapy model, conduct intake evaluations, crisis assessment and intervention, and provide outreach programs and consultation to the campus community. There are also opportunities for supervision of trainees from a doctoral program in counseling psychology and to pursue concentration areas (for a semester or for the year). Potential concentration areas include the following: Diversity, Eating Disorders, Training & Supervision, Grief & Loss, Group Therapy, Sport Psychology, and Trauma Recovery.

(09) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Postdoc Research Associate – Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University seeks outstanding applicants for a postdoctoral position in the Laboratory for Software Design (https://design.cs.iastate.edu) supervised by Dr. Hridesh Rajan. This position is expected to be filled as early as July 1, 2023. The candidate will be responsible for conducting research in broadly defined areas of Programming Languages (PL) and Software Engineering (SE) with a specific focus on SE/PL techniques for AI/ML systems. The laboratory is leading several initiatives in the area of modular deep learning, dependable data driven discovery and Responsible AI. The goal of these projects is to advance foundational research on ensuring that AI-enabled systems are trustworthy and of high quality. The successful candidate is being sought in part to contribute to the modular deep learning and D4 (Dependable Data Driven Discovery) projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and sustaining a strong research program; developing collaborative and interdisciplinary research; publishing in top venues; mentoring outstanding graduate students; and enhancing ISU through professional and institutional service. We are interested in exceptional candidates that can directly contribute to the two projects mentioned above. Preference will be given to candidates working on SE/PL for AI/ML systems.
