Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Biochemistry & Biomedicine
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, organised and talented post-doctoral research assistant (PDRA) to assist Dr. Rhys Morgan’s leukaemia research group in the School of Life Sciences. The post will run for three years but could have the potential for extension depending on the outcome of grant funding applications.

(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Medicinal/Natural Product Chemistry
The Sussex Drug Discovery Centre (SDDC) wishes to recruit a medicinal/natural product chemist. The position is for a commercially funded project co-led by Prof Roger Corder (visiting professor, University of Sussex) and Prof John Spencer, Director of SDDC. The position is fixed term and offer a leading role within a multi-disciplinary team of drug discovery scientists. The post requires expertise in method development and chromatographic purification of bioactive natural products (polyphenols) as well as synthetic chemistry in product labelling (linker-biotin, photoaffinity, fluorescent tags) for target identification. (03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics for Plant Genome Biology
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics based in the School of Life Sciences at the University of Sussex; one of the UK’s most prestigious universities.
Undertaking research in a vibrant and diverse research environment with an excellent international reputation, you will work as a key member of a research team investigating the function and evolution of plant genomes and transposable elements (TEs). TEs represent the majority of eukaryotic DNA, for example they comprise 50% of the human genome and up to 80-90% of the genome of plants. TEs were originally regarded as selfish DNA, but their importance in genome function and evolution is now well established.

The position is fixed term and offers a leading role within a multi-disciplinary team of drug discovery scientists. The post will involve studies of the mechanism action of polyphenols on endothelial cells using in-house isolated, purified and modified molecules of interest, target id studies, preparation of samples for proteomics studies, confocal microscope investigations of labelled analogues and siRNA studies. Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Research Fellow in Psychology
The School of Psychology is looking to recruit a post-doctoral Research Fellow to work on a new research project (funded by the ESRC) investigating the links between reading and empathy in primary school children. The project will explore the effects of reading fiction on children’s theory of mind and empathic skills, and will include the development and trialling of measures of children’s reading behaviours, their empathic responses to text, their levels of cognitive and affective empathy and pro-social behaviour.

The University of Sussex is a public research university located in Falmer, East Sussex, England, it is mostly within the city boundaries of Brighton and Hove but spills into the Lewes District in its eastern fringe. Its large campus site is surrounded by the South Downs National Park and is around 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) from central Brighton.
