The tasks within the project include the computation of higher order QCD corrections to collider observabales and operator anomalous dimensions as well as phenomenology applications with an eye on the Large Hadron Collider LHC and the forth-coming Electron Ion Collider EIC.

Postdoc summary/title:Research Associate for the Project “Cluster of Excellence ‚CUI: Advanced Imaging of Matter‘ – Large-scale entanglement in a cryogenic ytterbium tweezer array” § 28 Subsection 1+3 HmbHG
In the period from as soon as possible until 31.12.2025, research associates will be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research associate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the research associate’s own academic work.
In the period from 01.01.2026 for the remaining time duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
This research associate position is for the project “Large-scale entanglement in a cryogenic ytterbium tweezer array“ in the working group of Prof. Peter Schauss (http://ultracold.phys.virginia.edu). The goal is to develop a next-generation tweezer platform for ytterbium atoms in a cryogenic environment to suppress losses, increase coherence times and improve fidelity of entanglement operations for future neutral atom quantum computers. There may be the opportunity for a research stay of a few months at the University of Virginia to learn experimental techniques, to gain international experience and to explore Virginia (virginia.org).

(03) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position
Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title:Research Associate for the Project “Formation and Evolution of Supermassive Black Holes” § 28 Subsection 3 HmbHG

The prospective candidate will work on questions related to the formation of supermassive black holes in the context of one of the largest James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) treasury programs (COSMOS-3D). The ideal candidate will have a research focus on comparative politics or comparative political economy in the context of the ongoing crises and challenges in political decision-making, especially gender, diversity, or climate issues. With this research focus, the candidate will contribute to the chair’s work on gender and climate politics.
