(02) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc summary/title: Postdoc position in Tensions in Arctic Infrastructures

The Tensions project aims to study how ‘good’ infrastructure is practically negotiated in the Arctic, focusing on three infrastructure systems in tension: wind farms in Norway, telecommunication in Greenland and data storage in Iceland. Drawing on science and technology studies and, specifically, infrastructure studies (Edwards et al 2009; Star 1999), the project aims to follow moments of instability and re-negotiation as sites where Arctic infrastructural tensions become visible for ethnographic investigation. Infrastructural tensions are studied through multi-sited fieldwork, in each case moving across specific infrastructure sites, following relations between technical equipment and plants, planning offices, courts, government offices, and industry events.
The postdoctoral researcher is expected to contribute to Tensions by undertaking a multi-sited ethnographic fieldwork focused on the planning and development of wind farms in Finnmark, northern Norway. Methodologically, the position will involve document analysis and ethnographic interviews and observations on site in Finnmark as well as observations and interviews with key wind energy sector actors such as regulators, engineers, officials, and companies such as the multi-national conglomerates which plan and construct wind farms in Norway.
While the postdoc will predominantly focus on energy infrastructures and the case of Norwegian wind farms, all project members will collaborate across cases to analyse intersections between sites, tensions, and infrastructures in the Arctic.
The position also involves contributing to the development of arctic studies at Aalborg university, including funding activities as well as the development and coordination of scientific webinars, seminars and workshops in the research platform Arctic Lab.

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Four Postdoc Positions in Natural Language Processing, AI and LLM Security (CPH)

The positions are hosted within the Natural Language Processing (NLP) research group at AAU Copenhagen, and postdocs will be advised by Professor Johannes Bjerva [1]. The NLP group is a rapidly expanding research environment with strong activities in multilingual NLP, LLM security, linguistically informed approaches to NLP, factuality in LLMs, and socially sustainable AI. The group is supported by several major national and international research grants and is currently scaling up its research capacity – in 2026, we are also expanding with four PhD students who are expected to work closely with the postdocs hired in this call. As a postdoc, you will join a highly collaborative, international, and ambitious research community, with access to state-of-the-art computational resources. The positions feature the possibility of going on one or more longer stays abroad to facilitate knowledge exchange with top research environments worldwide. The positions are in part funded by a DFF: Sapere Aude project (“Building TRUST in Text: Linguistically Motivated Language Model Detection”) and an NNF: Ascending Data Science Investigator project (“LM2-SEC: Linguistically Motivated Language Model Security”).

(04) Postdoctoral Fellowship Position

Postdoc Fellowship Position summary/title: Two three-year postdocs in quasi- or survey-experimental social science.

The Department of Society and Politics at Aalborg University (Faculty of Social Sciences) is recruiting two full-time postdoctoral researchers to work on the newly funded POLSAFE project (Can Police Presence Decrease Perceived Safety).

Link: POLSAFE: Can Police Presence Decrease Perceived Safety? | Carlsbergfondet.dk

The positions are three-year appointments (37 hours per week), with an expected start date of 1 June 2026. They are well suited for early-career researchers interested in policing and politics, and who want hands-on experience working with large-scale quasi-experimental data. The project is funded by the Carlsberg Foundation and draws on evidence from some of the most far-reaching police centralization and decentralization reforms to date. We are already underway in obtaining access to data from a nationwide annual safety survey administered by the Swedish Crime Prevention Council, with responses from approximately 65,000 citizens. This dataset enables a rigorous evaluation of the public-safety consequences of one of the largest police centralization reforms to this date. In addition, the project has funding to implement original longitudinal panel surveys examining police reforms across four countries during 2027–2028, allowing for cross-national and temporal analysis of reforms.
POLSAFE examines whether increased police presence can, in some contexts, undermine rather than strengthen feelings of safety—particularly among minority residents. The project places strong emphasis on careful causal analysis and speaks directly to current policy debates, offering good opportunities for publication and for developing an independent research agenda.
Postdocs on the project will be part of an active and supportive research environment at Aalborg University, with close collaboration within the project team, opportunities for international engagement, and encouragement to pursue their own scholarly development.
